Castle Easterfowl

"Home to the very essence of ambition, The Dread Wizard of Sparrow’s End. Our master built this castle nearly 110 years ago as a family home, but after his daughter was claimed by the sea, it was repurposed into the spearhead of his machinations you see here today."

Purpose / Function

Castle Easterfowl is an island lair built by Galvadore, the Dread Wizard of Sparrow's End. It is currently inhabited by Julian, an apparrition of Galvadore who tends to the castle in Galvadore's absense.

Architecture

The castle is older, withered, nearing ruin were it not for the unceremonious work of a few beams and pillars seemingly carrying the entire structure. There are sparks and fractals of light coming from rooms deep into the castle, brimming with magic.   “Do not mind the burns and charred material lining this courtyard - this space is largely used for experimentation these days. I’m glad you’ve arrived, some of our previous thralls were not nearly as fireproof as would serve our needs, as you can see.”

Defenses

In the bay are a smattering of jagged rocks and cliffs barring any large vessels from docking at port. Only a few rowboats line the docks, but there are signs of ruined ships at the bottom of the bay.

History

Completed in 8 BF, this castle was originally a family home for Galvadore and his daughter. When his daughter was claimed by the sea in 7 AF, Galvadore was driven first to ambition, then to madness. As his mind became corrupted by his own unending grief, the castle fell to ruin.
