Khaly Hamons is introduced in Book 1 - Fire&Water.
A world with no magic was all Khaly knew. Until she brought her school project, a mechanical dragon, to life. Word carried fast to the Guild, a faction of the government seeking those with a gift. Forced into hiding, Khaly struggled with the new knowledge of magic existing, while trying to keep herself and her new dragons alive.

Personal history

Born in Armskirk, Nylm Hills, Khaly had an aptitude for all things mechanical, just like her father. She spent her early years studying in Armskirks only school. When the time came for her to take her aptitude test, both she and her father were thrilled when the Pifianka Academy of Polytechniques in Feesia accepted her.
Adapting to a new city and school was challenging. A challenge Khaly thought would be easy to overcome. However making new friends proved to be more difficult. Tormented by other students was nothing compared to what she had brought down on herself. If only her mother told her she was a dragon elemental.

Education

Khaly thrived in every task she took on, the basics of mathematics, language, geography, biology, and several other subjects. In the small town of Armskirk, Nylm Hills, this was carefully nurtured. Every task she was given by her teachers was a challenge she had to overcome. Because there were not many children in her school, she had a large number of friends. Inclusivity was the Nylm way, so they never felt like they were in competition with each other.
Upon moving to Feesia due to her father’s career, she experienced a drastically different atmosphere at Pifianka Academy of Polytechnics. Despite everything becoming a competition, she was still the most skilled in the class. Students were not as generous with sharing their knowledge or providing help when it was needed. The competition for the limited positions in the Robotics Department was fierce among individuals.
Khaly found it challenging to form friendships and chose to keep to herself. For partner projects, her peers would frequently vie for the chance to collaborate with her. Her classmates only sought to team up with her to take advantage of her hard work, while they contributed nothing.
In this higher learning school, she honed her skills with mechanics and software, quickly becoming one of the top students in the short year she attended.

Motivation

Just like any other Elemental, Khaly is struggling to stay alive. However, her purpose is also to exact revenge on behalf of her parents. She was thrown into this world, and her parents suffered the consequences of her ignorance. She is convinced that their deaths are her responsibility and is committed to stopping whoever is behind the Guild.
