Mephit, Mirror
Mephits formed of the stuff of the Plane of Mirrors. Illusions abound.
Small imp-like creatures circle an inscrutable sculpture, their wings refracting light at random angles. An unexpected intruder enters and, upon being noticed, twisted images of their form are conjured. The intruder beats a hasty retreat, spooked by the illusions.
Mirror mephits are natives of the Plane of Mirrors, commonly found once a traveller starts making their way deep into the plane. They are flighty creatures, preferring to avoid interactions with others through their modest ability to conjure illusions. They rarely appear on The Material but are occasionally found in the service of magic users.
Like other mephits, these creatures appear impish in build but have a form made of the raw material of their elemental essence. Mirror mephits have silver, reflective bodies that catch and scatter light from the surroundings. Their hairless heads have recognisable facial features with the exception of eyes; instead, a smooth surface reflects the visage of any observers able to get into face-to-face contact. Finally, they have wings nearly as large as the rest of their form, the webbing of which is thin and clear like glass. There are subtle variations in the colouring of their wings and it is possible to recognise individuals by the patterns therein.
Mirror mephits are created spontaneously, much like other mephits. A conglomeration of elemental energy combines with the seed of sentience that influence from The Astral can cause. They live indefinitely and do not age. When slain, they burst into a spray of colourful lights which may blind those nearby. Left behind may be small shards of reflective or transparent material with magical properties.

Death Burst. When the mephit dies, it explodes in a burst of fragmented light. Each creature within 5 ft of it must then succeed on a DC 10 Constitution saving throw or be blinded for 1 minute. A blinded creature can repeat the saving throw on each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.
Actions
Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +2 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 4 (1d6) slashing damage.
Prismatic Breath (Recharge 6). The mephit exhales a 15-foot cone of multicoloured lights. Each creature in that area must succeed on a DC 10 Dexterity saving throw or be blinded for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.
Variant: Summon Mephits (1/Day)
The mephit has a 25 percent chance of summoning 1d4 mephits of its kind. A summoned mephit appears in an unoccupied space within 60 feet of its summoner, acts as an ally of its summoner, and can't summon other mephits. It remains for 1 minute, until it or its summoner dies, or until its summoner dismisses it as an action.
