Lesate's Tears
A faintly magical herb with healing properties, twinkling in the moonlight.
A poultisse against injury:
Take the Tears, of which a handful, and pluck off the petals, discarding those not suitable but keeping the stemme and add to lavender tips dried in the sun for their sent. Boyle these together in a cup of raine water with a spoon-full of honey until a thick poultisse is had. From the stemmes, take the nectar and mix until complete. Apply as payst to fresh woundes.
Lesate's Tears are found throughout Urvén in lush areas, particularly ancient woodland. It grows as thin vines that wrap around the trunks of large, old trees. Small flowers with five petals are speckled along these vines, a central, pronounced droplet of nectar twinkles in the low light of the moon.
The flowers are prized for their natural healing properties and are commonly gathered by herbalists living in or near forests. It is, however, almost impossible to cultivate domestically as the vines seem to propagate randomly and infrequently. This inability to sustain large harvest volumes combined with the scarcity outside of wooded areas can drive prices up in urban environments. This is compounded by the flowers being a key ingredient in some formulations of a potion of healing.
The fallen moon spirit, Lesate, is the namesake for this plant. It was the light of the fullbright moon that illuminated the flowers in the days of Old Sond. In recent times, the name is used in memory of Lesate's fate, especially by cultures and people that closely revered her.
