Hungering Spear
A rare weapon that draws the life force from a victim and bestows it upon its wielder.
Bashar spins his spear around, stabbing at those circling around him. He strikes true, his demonic torso-maw slavering as blood drips from the blade. The target is weakened, their very essence drained, and Bashar stands just a little taller - rejuvenated by this energy.
A hungering spear is a highly sought after weapon due to its ability to bolster the life force of its wielder at the expense of a victim. Several examples exist across Urvén but most have the same design: a tri-tipped point and a dark red cloth tassel roughly eighteen inches in length. When the weapon strikes, the tassal appears to cling to the target unsettlingly.
Bearers of such a weapon who gain too much renown sometimes become the target of zealous types. Since the spear channels necrotic energy, followers of good-aligned deities and organisations may decide that the destruction of the weapon is essential for the health of society. In truth, while a valuable item, the hungering spear is merely a tool in the hands of its wearer.

Rare Necromancy Requires Attunement
You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. When you hit a target with it, that creature takes an additional 1d6 necrotic damage and you gain temporary hit points equal to the damage received.
Thrown. If a weapon has the thrown property, you can throw the weapon to make a ranged attack. If the weapon is a melee weapon, you use the same ability modifier for that attack roll and damage roll that you would use for a melee attack with the weapon. For example, if you throw a handaxe, you use your Strength, but if you throw a dagger, you can use either your Strength or your Dexterity, since the dagger has the finesse property.
Versatile. This weapon can be used with one or two hands. A damage value in parentheses appears with the property—the damage when the weapon is used with two hands to make a melee attack.
This spear is of average length with an unadorned wooden shaft. Its head is made of three points, arranged in a triangular formation, their tips a little more than an inch apart. As a result, victims suffer vicious puncture wounds. At the top of the shaft, a red tassel roughly a foot long hangs - moving uncomfortably to wrap around and cling to a struck enemy.
