Tiamat, marshalling the combined forces of every chromatic dragonflight, sets about to purge Urth of all the sentient races following the suppression of the latest infernal skirmish in the Esverdian Northwilds. When the consort of Malfathraze succumbs to infected wounds suffered during the demonic invasion, every chromatic brood launches an attack without warning, striking first the Golden Wing Citadel, Lushan, the Highmountain, and Heartholme. Despite suffering heavy losses, the Elder Races fight back and with the aid of the metallic dragonflights, eventually emerge victorious. Irreparable damage is caused to the lands of Urth, gouging a crater in the southern mountains of Quetzon, razing the western portions of Terrefore to a scorched wasteland, and leaving Heartholme a necromantic-infested ruin.
