Talking with John's Landlord

The landlord tells you the John never gave her any trouble. He lived alone. There were never any complaints about him. The rent was always paid on time. He was never rowdy or caused any damage. He'd been living in the apartment for several years and had always been an ideal tenant. She also tells you that the man living across the hallway from John was always making up strange stories about him being involved in a life of crime. But the landlord doesn't believe any of that.
