Qafroabar

Qafroabar is a society of people focused on chronomancy (time magic) to the exclusion of all other types of magic.
Unlike other societies, magic is studied by nearly everyone. The Qafroabarans are proud of their magic, and use it to enhance their society, using it in all kinds of work, from growing crops faster to trapping prisoners in old age.
Qafroabarans are the only wielders of chronomancy, and everyone who wants to learn chronomancy must go to Qafroabar. They must then renounce all other types of magic for a year to prove they are pure of spirit. After this year has passed, the new Qafroabaran will be taught the Chronomancy Matrix and will gain the ability to learn chronomancy spells.
In Qafroabar, it is believed that Qafroa, the god of time, is the greatest of the gods, if there even are any others. They also believe that all should try to imitate Him and his greatness by using only chronomancy. Using any other type of magic, they believe, is sinful because that magic is impure. Consequently, using any other type of magic is forbidden and punishable by death.

Qafroabarans believe that it was Qafroa who gave them the first matrix of chronomancy. All chronomancy is derived from this matrix, and they cite proof that it was divinely inspired by the fact that no other nations have been able to come up with chronomancy.
