The Dusklands

The Dusklands were once the homeland of the Halflings, before they were swallowed by the Encroaching Cold. The regions was populated by Halfling communes, as well as some Human and Dwarven settlements, since at least the start of the previous Northern Warm Period. During the onset of the most recent Great Northern Winter, virtually the entire population was displaced from the region, and most surviving Halflings eventually settled on the other side of Dukhala, in Soufirs.
The region is presently considered nearly uninhabitable, despite the end of the Great Northern Winter. Despite this, Clan Daymender continues to reside within the northern Dusklands, and did so throughout the entirety of the Winter. The most common inhabitants of the region are Orcs, as well as some Drow and other Underdark natives. The Dusklands also contain the largest concentration of undead anywhere on the surface of Ura, which regularly come into conflict with Clan Daymender.
