The Abyssal invasion is a semi-mythical event that occured in the distant past, involving an invasion of the Material Plane by forces likely originating in the Abyss. Most scholars agree that some sort of devastating interplanar war occured many millennia ago, with some believing it to be related to The Disruption. Critics of this belief point to a lack of evidence of such an invasion, though its supporters retort that the invasion caused such devastation that all substantial evidence was destroyed.
