Mekon

Built around a large Oasis, this city used to thrive on being the intermediary between traders from the Ciprosian Sea, and the tribal natives of the desert and mountains of the east. Trade has slowed since the collapse of the Colossean Empire, however, and as such the city became relatively poor for a time, until the formation of the Ciprosian Union reignited the cross-desert trade. They worship a slightly different version of the Colossean pantheon. They are a despotic monarchy with a heavy mercantile influence, and practiced slavery until 889 YD.
