Sphere: Academic, PC A patient and careful scholar - but then, they have to be. Azoth studies are not for the faint of coolant pump (or heart, as Um-Beryllium's colleagues tend to say). Advancement within the field often comes when a more senior colleague's experiment goes awry, and they find themselves absorbed into the very essence of the universe - no doubt an appealing fate in some ways, but not conducive to the furthering of research goals. The Senior Reader divides their time between their laboratory in the basement of the Primordial Tower, a more extensive workshop in the Smoke District, and arguing with other members of the Athenaeum Fraternity about the shape that the universe ought to take, and how the Fraternity should or should not intervene to achieve that. Their own studies lead them to believe that that there is an enlightenment to be achieved by exposing the mind to the raw Aether - albeit, doing this in a way which is safe for the subject is still a question for research.
