The body of The Lumen is vast, enough that entire nations and cultures have risen and fallen on its back through the eons.
Much of Lumen's surface is covered by water, broken by ever shifting archapelegoes of islands. Seismic activity can create volcanoes that birth new islands and just as easily shake apart islands and return them to the depths.
The seas and islands of Lumen are rich with life, and equally dangerous with predators. Light Elementors form small settlements based around a single island which never lasts longer than the island itself, rarely more than a couple of generations.
