Mudras River
The Mudras River flows west fromWhite-Bone-Teeth Mountains, through the desert of the Golden Sands to the Istaril Sea. It denotes the boarder between the Telentia River Plains and the The Howling Woods. While not as culturally significant as the Telentia River, it is still a main artery for agriculture in the region, supplying places like Fort Terus and Oldhome with much needed freshwater.
The Mudras is often compared to the Telentia to the north. Unlike it's sister, the Mudras river is neither wide nor deep enough to support much trade on its surface. Much of the river is covered in shallow rapids that make it impossible to navigate most vessels larger than a fisherman's boat. While the banks do flood, they do not do so with enough predictability to plan around and not often enough to be a major factor. Still, the river is much longer than its northern sister, with fewer dangers among the wildlife.
The land along the river was originally owned by independent Shivra peoples who live and work the land the river supplies. However, it was annexed by the Al'Badadi Empire during the War of Splintered Trees.
