Historical Details

Background

Passports have been in use since the early 15th century, although documents similar to them have been in use since the year 450 BCE.

History

Passports, or similar documents, sprung up across Terra independantly of each other, before being issued as a legal document worldwide at a later point in time. By the time of the World Wars, they were required across the world.   To begin with, Martian passports were issued in the name of the last Terran nation that the holder had lived in, however, when people started to apply for passports for their children who were born on, had always lived on, and, in every other way had second-generation citizenship of the nation they belonged to, nations on Mars started to issue their own seperate passports.
