Ionian (Eye-oh-nee-un)
The people of Io, like with anywhere in the ‘system, have many different cultures within their culture. However one thing that unites the people of Io is their love, or hate, of volcanoes.
Ionians are people from @io. The most prominent feature in Ionian culture is volcanoes, due to their constant eruption. In fact, one common media analysis has stated that you can tell if the writer is Ionian by how they talk about volcanoes, even in works set on other planemos.
Nobody on Mars is like 'Oh, this is mount Olympus, the extinct volcano, in the background' they're just like 'I could see mount Olympus in the background.' if they even point it out, it's quite shallow -- MediaSinsIonian cuisine is heavily based on meat, possibly because growing crops on Io is harder, due to the high threat of volcanic eruptions. Whilst in Ionian cities you will probably be near to at least five restaurants or street vendors which sell Beef Stew Surprise, an Ionian dish in which the surprise is that there’s only beef in the stew. (Although there is the occasional variation called ‘Beef Stew Surprise with Steak, in which there’s also a steak).
Mum always told me I'd find out what the surprise was when I was older... I did... It's nothing.Ionians also often find other planemos oceans disturbingly calm, as they are used to much larger tides, which are even able to be felt on dry land. Another concept that seems almost alien to Ionians is drinkable tap water.
You drink your tap water? Why? Isn't that bad for you? What about the sulphur?

Major language groups and dialects
Euboean English: a variation on British English which borrows some spelling from American English
Tvashtarian English, often described as a combination of Australian and American English
Pelean, a mixture of several Terran languages which has formed in Pele
Culture and cultural heritage
The three largest countries on io are Pele, Tvashtar and Euboea. Pele was originally five smaller countries, but they merged together after between 3 and 10 years. The other two, like some other countries, has always been separate, which means that their cultural influences are generally less than other countries. So called 'mixed countries' have diverse cultures, whilst, with some cultural exceptions, the other sub cultures are generally more isolated and it is easier to see which Terran country the majority of the population’s ancestors came from.
Average technological level
Io is considered a Solar Class I moon, as it is able to supply technology to the population without fail, even during volcanic eruptions.
Art & Architecture
A lot of Ionian art actually doesn’t focus on volcanoes. Whilst they do appear, the focus seems to be on others aspects of the landscape. This may be due to Ionians being fed up of seeing volcanoes everywhere.
When you only need to look out your window to see something, do you have to hang paintings of it everywhere?Most Ionian buildings are built on stilts. A few small ones have been built to hover when in danger, similar to hover vehicles, however these can be even less safe, and the strength needed to build a large hovering building is not yet Available
Common Customs, traditions and rituals
Most Ionians have visited a volcano at least the times in their life, this is less a tradition and more a fact of life, however when visiting one on a specified day, such as Ionian New Year, certain traditions are normally followed.
Whilst many other cultures make wishes on shooting stats, Ionians will sometimes make wishes on volcanoes. Normally this wish is to stay alive...
Birth & Baptismal Rites
In some places parents will take their newborn children to the nearest volcano, if it’s safe to do so. This is supposedly to start teaching them about the dangers of volcanoes.

At Final Sendoff, Ionians are normally sent off with some EIR
