An October Hike #9: Caught My Eye

We continue uphill for a good stretch. The early autumn sun catching my eye through the tree crowns, tells me we still got ways to go before stopping for the night. I find my mind wandering to Otherworld - the supposed homeworld of my 'people' - A parallel world housing Alfs and Feys alike. I have only had a small glance of it myself, but we are told nature there is older, grander than here. I wonder if it would suit itself well for trekking. Expeditions maybe. When you look past the threats of trolls and giants and magic and what have you. Okay, maybe scratch that idea for now.
The Dísir - the leading ladies of our community - try to prepare us for a life there. For when we changelings decide to embrace our dormant fey heritage. But I never put much stock into it - my world is the world of humans and cities and cellphones. Full feydom is not my destiny! But I do find myself intrigued by Otherworld. I have to see it again.
