An October Hike #4: Her Otherworldly Heritage
"Yeah, uh, I like exercising. Thought I'd try my hand at new ways of working out," I respond eagerly. God, I hope I didn't sound too suggestive.
"Well, trekking is a great way to do so," he smiles. His eyes drifting to my chullo. "That's a fun hat. Might get warm though, once we get going." Once we get going? I can feel the heat rising as we speak. But I can't.
"I can't. Uh, I mean, uhm..." calm yourself, Alea, you planned a lie for this as well. "I had an unfortunate hair dying accident." God, that sounds lame, when I say it out loud. I can't let him see my pointy ears - my Otherworldly heritage. I'm just an exotic girl. Better cool my blood and not act on this chemistry. The words are still lingering though.
