An October Hike #16: Grungy Thoughts
"Leo? Leo, are you out here?"
"Oh, I'm sorry if I interrupted anything," her face turning into a polite smile of her own, before turning to Leo. "We were just having an issue back at camp. I'm sure it can wait-"
"No no, it's alright," Leo pardons. "I guess I better get back then," he continues, sending me an apologetic grimace.
Panic. It's one of the others. We slip out of each others arms, and I put on my chullo just in time for one of the other hikers to pop out of the bushes. I hope. She stops as she notices me. Did she notice? The anxiety is petrifying. But I try sporting a polite smile.

She starts bending his ear, as he follows her back into the bushes. He looks back and I mouth the word 'LATER' at him, and he nods, before they disappear. For a moment I just stand there, lost - annoyed, I guess. God, how did we even get here? I put in my earbuds, and try drowning out my mind with music. Some grungy playlist starts going, as I return my eyes at the horizon. It sure got dark fast out here.
