Mana Addiction

This affliction cannot be transmitted.
It can however be transferred to offspring if the mother is a level 3 addict or became one during pregnancy.
Causes
Ingesting too many mana potions over a longer period of time.
Symptoms
Withdrawal symptoms includes from mild to extreme nausea, vomiting, dizziness, sleeplessness, angst, hallucinations and rage.
People in withdrawal may also experience physical symptoms such as darkened or luminescent blood vessels especially prominent in the face and arms/hands, making them look sickly in a very unnerving way.
As the addiction deepens the previously darkened blood vessels become glowing in a dark blue tint, making it impossible to hide the affliction.
Treatment
The only treatment is before the darkening of the blood vessels, at that point there are no return.
Before that however, if simply abstaining from consuming mana one may rid oneself of the mana addiction.
Prognosis
Stage 1: Mild addiction symptoms within one day since last mana consumption: nausea, dizziness, sleeplessness.
If not consuming any more these symptoms will worsen slightly over the next couple weeks before slowly getting better. After a month the needy feeling to consume is still somewhat there but the withdrawal symptoms isn't.
Stage 2: Severe addiction symptoms within one day since last mana consumption: Severe nausea, vomiting, dizziness, sleeplessness, angst, paranoia, hysteria, hallucinations and rage. Physical symptoms include darkened blood vessels especially prominent in the face and arms/hands, making them look sickly in a very unnerving way. At this stage there are no cure but the addiction can be kept at bay by consuming moderate amounts of mana when the withdrawal starts becoming taxing. When mana is consumed one tend to feel better, way better than normal, both mentally and physically. The Physical symptoms of withdrawal however does not disappear. Living as a mana addict is sure to shorten the lifespan by decades. A couple weeks without consuming mana means certain death as they have lost their natural ability to replenish their mana pool.
Another side effect is they become stronger in the Arcane while at this stage. Their Arcane power is increased by half what it is considered to be when reaching this stage.
Stage 3: Extreme addiction symptoms within one day since last mana consumption: Extreme nausea, vomiting, dizziness, sleeplessness, angst, paranoia, hysteria, hallucinations, rage, depression, Irrationality, Schizophrenia, fuge-state. The blood vessels turns a luminescent dark blue and their eyes become strongly luminescent often in shades of blue... The Addict also loose the ability to regenerate mana naturally and in fact loose 1 mana pr. day. When they run out of Mana, they die and are therefore dependent upon mana potions, shards or certain forbidden magics that leech mana from other beings. A addiction of this severity is extremely hard on the body and most die within a decade unless they're able to extend their life using forbidden life leech magics to consume the life force of other beings.
Another side effect at this stage of addiction is their mana pool they can draw on are tripled, so too are their Arcane Power, giving the addict immense magical powers. When their mana pool gets low however the withdrawal symptoms comes with a vengeance and they often have no choice but to consume mana as soon as possible.

Not over consuming mana potions.
