Giltbough-Glenhaven Border Dispute

Nine years ago, to meet the growing demand for grandfather wood and sap, a contingent of Glenknights attempted to capture an Arbor that had begun growing over the border into Glenhaven territory. According to the Treaty of the Trees, any overgrowth would be culled when the trees had reached maturity and that until that time the Commonwealth would honor an easement. The Glenknights argued that the trees on the Glenhaven side had reached maturity the season before and that the treaty was violated, rendering the whole Arbor forfeit. A small number of Royal Knights led by Knight-Captain Sir Emir Fenriksson were able to repel the invaders with very little bloodshed, managing to take several prisoners. King Tuomas III, along with Fenriksson was able to negotiate a truce between the nations, restoring the Treaty and returning the prisoners in exchange for logging rights for the overgrowth and contracts to purchase grandfather tree products from the Kingdom. After Tuomas's death and Elisabet's coronation, this peace was tested again as bandits from Glenhaven attacked one of the shipments of grandfather wood, killing the merchant and the Arborean pilgrim that was accompanying him.
