Soviet Union Remnants - U.S.S.R.

The Soviet Union is a group shrouded in mystery ever since their first rediscovery in the 2600’s. Their origins are foggy and a closely guarded secret, but so far, the general public has been able to piece together a bit of it. It seems that the first initial Soviet odyssey ships were sent into deep space during the first Space Race of Humanity’s home planet. They were sent out in secret to colonize the nearest habitable planet, and were mostly successful. This was because of the USSR’s fear of the destruction of the planet during the high tension of the time. The rest of humanity eventually caught up, and when they met up with Soviet Union forces, they refused to believe the USSR had been disbanded. Because of this, Soviet’s are untrusting of anyone outside of their kin, and stick mostly to their own. The planet they had been sent to colonize was rich with materials that were readily available, allowing them to create a vast navy in the time it took the other groups to reach such a level of spacefaring technology.
Soviets, from this point on, preferred the loneliness and isolationism of FTLT, and are constantly sending their craft into unknown space. These ships are usually manned between 100-5,000 people. When a Soviet ship finally docks, it will briefly stop to refill on supply in their own fast colonization ways; they have a closely guarded terraforming secret that allows them to grow an abundance of food and gather large amounts of materials in record time. This technique has never been recovered by anyone outside of the Soviets. After this process is done, they allow anyone to get off and start a colony on the planet who wishes, and everyone else takes off, back into the unknown. It’s important to know that many of these Soviet colonies often dream of FTLT travel, and are keen on making ships to continue their journey further into the unknown. This often leads to many waves of Soviets travelling through space.
Soviets are seen as the rugged minimalist group of human space. Although they aren’t an officially recognized organization, there is no denying their presence, and they are often the first to see a planet's surface or discover a new race.
At the moment, there is a strong Soviet presence in Porphyrion, and they have enough forces to win against both Icarus and Waning Stars if they get into open contact. However, the Soviets often stay out of conflict, albeit in a way that makes them seem untrustworthy.
The USSR’s emblematic colors are red and white. Their identification symbol is most commonly a red retro spaceship travelling around a white planet.
