Session 009: Exploding Extractor Report
General Summary
Midnight Squad found themselves outside a swarm Extractor Imago that was feeding off of Ilemchuuva with the help of Clade Company.
Charged with disabling or destroying the Extractor Midnight squad went in, finding a section that appeared to be a potential opening. A valve that could be opened.
Ahnje L'Treaux clawed her way into it, & Midnight Squad made their way into the massive swarm creature. The creature was completely dark so those needing vision turned on their lights & the entire squad put their environmental protection on.
Walking down the hall Ahnje noticed creatures from gaps in the hall that appeared to be in a lower section of the creature.
The first room saw several swarm creatures & a massive heart. Ahnje was determined to destroy the heart & attacked it once the creatures were dealt with.
With the heart destroyed the light at the tunnel used to enter the creature went out.
Midnight squad went out the south door, & a feeling came over Ahnje that she was leaving the creature. Turning back they exited from the eastern door.
Fighting the swarm components in this section they were able to make their way west to a new section, where they found some oozes. Taking them down, had swarm creatures appear from what might be a room.
These three swarm creatures were defeated, & Midnight Squad was almost out of spell slots at this time.
Rivet saw the perfect opportunity to use his grenades. Putting all of his grenades together he placed them on the brain in the brain room, & was hit with a mind blast from the brain when he got in 10 feet of it.
After setting the grenades Rivet moved to 20 feet from it & detonated the grenades. Which almost took the creature out, after a couple more attacks the brain was dead.
The Extractor Imago began to collapse & Midnight Squad ran out of the creature as fast as they could. They met back up with Clade Company, got in a vehicle, & drove off. The Extractor was destroyed with a missile attack on it.
