Gender and Sexuality

Gender

There is little difference in how witches view gender in United Britannia and Hibernia. Men and women are considered equal; it is one's Magic that they are judged on. Men and women are expected to split domestic chores equally, and it would be considered strange if that wasn't the case.   Transgendered individuals are allowed to use Healing Magic to match their gender identity. Witches do not discriminate against transgender individuals and consider their transition as simply aiding them in finding their true identity.

Sexuality

Sexuality is much more fluid in UBH. The entire spectrum of sexuality is not discriminated against, and it's common for many young witches to go through a large number of partners to find the one they will Merge with.   Many witches, however, would consider someone not having a family to be slightly odd; if a couple isn't able to have children on their own, adoption is considered on equal footing, and it is expected that most couples have kids.   Largely, though, most witches are not judged based on their sexuality, and witches find LGBTQ+ discrimination in the human world to be extremely strange and antithetical to a polite society.

Nova Religio

Unfortunately, the small number of adherents to Nova Religio tend to be the most conservative members of UBH, and as such, they are the most vocal deterrents to LGBTQ+ individuals. However, their small number is always overshadowed by the support of other witches. (This is not to say every member of Nova Religio is socially conservative, just that a large number are.)
