Jaime

Basic Information

Goals

Like most students, he’s at that point of life when you just need to figure out what you want, and explore your skills in hopes that someday those things would fit together.   Unlike his classmates, he is very aware of that, and he’s determined to enjoy the process of self discovery.

Fears

Don’t tell the other students, but he worries that one of them may kill him if he lets his guard down.     He’s right, of course, and there is no shame in being afraid when you face real danger; but he likes to pretend that he’s unaware of their plans to get him down.

    Personal History

In this day and time, everybody has what they need and many have what they want, but not many are interested in being actually rich. Jaime’s family certainly does. These people have been hoarding resources even before the last trial.   A fortune of generations has meaning even in modern society, but the main reason why they were “respected” in the city was their tendencies to revenge and the methods they would use to get whatever they couldn’t buy.   Jaime’s ancestors have supported the Academy almost since its foundation, and many of them studied there at some point, but only as a way to expand their views and knowledge. Their wrongdoings are more a matter of personal inspiration or family tradition. A tradition he learnt in his early years. Productivity and finances were the most important lessons, but knowing how to push people around and aside was vital.   He understood and learned to apply the family principles earlier than most of his relatives had, and developed all sorts of skills that would come in handy. But he also started to wonder what was the point of being rich and powerful.   His family worried about his lack of ambition, but hoped that school would teach him the things that they have missed somehow.   It did work, in a way. He was younger and more prepared than most of his classmates; a legacy and an overachiever at the same time. It didn’t take long before he noticed that he had a target on his back. After a life of comfort and shared goals, he found himself surrounded by enemies who would either murder him while he slept, or bully him into a depression. Now he knew what power and resources were for.   After five challenging years he still hasn’t managed to get rid of all the students that he can’t buy. More important: he knows that even those who seem loyal can always switch sides as soon as they get a better offer. And it was cool when he was a child. Well, it was terrifying sometimes, but it was also a game.   He’s too old for games now. He’s on a path of self discovery, for crying at loud! All that competitive nonsense is distracting him from what matters and he’s getting sick of it.
