Clara

Basic Information

Goals

A person can only do so much evil before getting bored of it. At least, that’s the case for those who like a challenge. After so many decades of understanding the human mind and heart, and the magical properties of all forms of matter, Clara had to choose between becoming a flawless everyday hero, a janitor or a teacher. No other task or role was enough of a dare at this point.

Fears

Boredom.
A predictable life.

Skills

She knows how to shape the very components of any object, as well as the human thoughts and emotions. She does that mostly with magic, but she has studied and experimented with many different methods in her life. -

Flaws

Just as she won’t move a finger for a task or purpose she finds boring, she can’t say no to a challenge. She will do anything, absolutely anything, to win or to fulfill the established goal.

Personal History

Most people think that she met the principal while they were children, and they may be close in age, but there is no way to be sure. Others say they met when they were designing the Academy together, that is certainly not true.   She learnt magic with the purpose of healing people and growing vegetables, like many witches do in the cities. But she was a lazy kid and it took effort to do such things.   She would rather learn magic tricks to amuse those who didn’t know the trade. Her family took her disinterest for ineptitude and tried to teach her alternatives for magic. That required even more effort, but “studying sciences” gave her the chance to spend hours reading in the garden, or even drawing simple things on her notebook.   Kids can be mean, though, and she was isolated and sometimes mocked by other witch children. To which she would respond with mean pranks, if the insult was so annoying that it was worth letting the laziness aside for a moment. Maybe that’s what led her to cruelty. Maybe she just chose the easier way possible: why grow vegetables and cook a meal, when you can just take somebody else’s food?   For whatever reason, as an adult she found herself on the villainous side, alone, bored, and with occasional headaches. So, when she was particularly bored she studied to heal herself.   The easiest way to find books was to visit a library, otherwise she would have to talk with many people about what she needed, make acquaintances and work to pay for the volumes. Back then, the only library in town was the one at “that school where teach horrible things”, so she went there.   She didn’t find her passion in that library, despite the attempts of some teachers who saw her potential.. She just read lots of things to pass the time when she was bored, and did her best to learn any trick that would make her life easier and give her time to relax.   For years she didn’t notice that most of the time she wasn’t relaxed but bored. If she had noticed earlier, maybe she wouldn’t have gone through the effort of finding a way to age slower.   She didn’t consider herself a villain either. She just enjoyed winning, and didn’t care for others. She would insult, push around, rob or hurt whoever she needed to in order to have a comfortable life.   Eventually, she pursued more challenging goals, always looking for the easiest way to achieve them. Nobody really understood how a person could live that way, but she wasn’t aware of any inconsistency in her way of thinking.   Looking for challenges, she became the school’s janitor. Sometimes keeping order, sometimes terrorizing students and people specialized in different terrors, she enjoyed her new job for a long time.   But it’s getting boring too. Maybe it’s time to try and become the opposite force for these brilliant villains. Being a hero seemed stupid after being perceived as a villain for so long… but maybe it’s not stupid, maybe it’s just a very difficult goal, for which she may try and get a shortcut.
