The Primal squirrel

(a.k.a. Guardian of the forest, killer of murder hobos, eater of nuts.)

Known as the guardian of the forest, this squirrel is said to appear to travelers in forests at night. Those who treat it with kindness and respect are gifted with 'nature's bounty while in the forest while those who mercilessly attack it tend to meet a grisly death.
Appearing as a basic grey squirrel many travelers mistake it for just another squirrel, leading to some rather bloody instances for the more murderous ones. It is debated whether each forest has its own or whether its the same one, traveling between the forests, but the fact that the dread wood and woods of the blessed planes, both have stories of bandits running out of them screaming about a nut-eating squirrel cannot be a coincidence.
More curious is when asked, shifters shamen refuse point blank to name the spirit or spirits involved, making some believe these are actually just mutant spirits.
