Netherlight Grove

History

The Netherlight Grove was a myconid community in the Northdark. Its isolation permitted the myconids to live in peace.

Party History

With the party picking up Caelith and Tropsm they managed to get to the Grove with Stool's help who they found separated in Gracklstugh. Upon arrival they gained the trust of Basidia by going hunting for the colony to bring back the corpses of nearby monsters, he told them how something fishy had been going on with Phylo and to be careful with him. They also found their previous cellmate Sarith who turns out had made it here with some other drow who had recaptured him but disappeared here in the grove.

After a few days of investigating the party went into the deeper part of the Grove called the Garden of Welcome where they found the drows dead from spore infecting them, there they fought with the circle of masters and Yestebrod who killed Sarith by activating the spores he was infected with.

After killing him they ventured to the large mushroom that towered over the grove called Yggmorgus, there they found the Demon Queen of decay Zuggtmoy. They were knocked unconscious and woke up outside the garden but now with the knowledge that they were infected with whatever spores the others were infected with. They also learned that the Demon Queen was preparing for a wedding of her and some other being.

Inhabitants

Netherlight Grove was led by the myconid sovereign Phylo for a long time.

Fellow sovereign Basidia led its colony to the Grove and assumed co-leadership of the community. However soon after the demon lord Zuggtmoy considered the Grove to be perfect for her headquarters and corrupted Phylo.

The grove is made up of circles of myconids and their leaders.
