    Diplomatic action

    Alliance of Hammers is signed by the golden elves to the south, farmers, tradesmen, and fishermen from the north-west, the mountain dwarves from the northern mountains, and the plains to the east. All entering in a non-aggression trade agreement with Master Rene-Melg in order to build a castle and farmland to fashion a guild of power with her as the guild master.

    The Corner Stone

    A small town was formed for the only purpose to store resources and house workers. Although a simple need, the town grew up gaining multi-story buildings because of the master craftsman's skill. While growing out gaining new territory because of the need for food and resources for livelihood. thus quickly becoming a site worthy to put on a map.

    The pouring in of mass resources continues to the southern tip of the northern mountain range causing profits and jobs skyrocket in the regen. All peoples have work and hope from farmers to master craftsmen. Talk is in the open of immigration from other countries to support Master Rene-Melg or for the hope of a new city.

    The X Hero Adventurer named Melg has gathered a sizable workforce, plans, and allies. Now this year has Started her own castle. To this day the cost of the structure is unknown.

    Predictions of War.
    Discovery, Exploration

    Throughout these two years, the City of Dawnfall has been scouting the mountains North and East of CornerStone and has been delivering news that the Savage Species there are gathering in mass to launch an attack against CornerStone and the building site of Castle Melg.
    Due to the oncoming threat, the City of Dawnfall deploys troops of defensive fighters, archers, and a few mages to combat this threat and bolster their new ally. With orders to defend the town and when not on military time to help with the construction.

    Preemptive Strike
    Disaster / Destruction

    After months of preparing and key assassinations to the leaders of the Goblin Hoards, the forces have seemed to only grow in numbers. New information suggests combat boars and wolves being held at the dens as well as sightings of hob-goblins. Not wanting to allow this to continue both the leaders of Melg and Dawnfall combine forces and attempt a first strike with the goal to whittle there numbers and intimidate the goblins. After killing many smaller goblins they were concerned that no advanced forces were shown on the mountainside but the casualties on the goblins side far outweighed the deaths on the allies' side. With near 100 goblins dead the army returns home assuming they got there message across. One month later they send scouts again, only one returned with the news that there are over 200 goblins of varying races and strengths, fully preparing for war.

    War of the Goblin Hoards

    200+ goblins swarm the foundations of the city as well as CornerStone and every man woman and child fights for their life. The battles lasted 2weeks and 5days, 56 people died due to this. The Alliance of Hammers is strengthened as an outcome. Efforts are doubled on the walls of the city by allocating 65% of dwarven craftsmen to the wall project.

    Walled Defense / Captured Hope.

    The reinforced interlocking stone wall is completed, as well as, one and a half of the grand halls. Morale is noticeably increased.  The wall became known as the Red Wall of Melg not only for its color but also was finished only 2 years after a large battle with goblins. Some bones could still be found of Elf, Human, and Goblin in the area. Mountain carving commences during this time to carve the foundation of the castle into the mountain itself.

    Bearded Vengeance
    Disaster / Destruction

    During these three years, Dell Heltirm caught word of the attempted overrun of Melg by goblin forces. Angered that an ally of the dwarves was nearly wiped out, the City countered and launched small powerful groups into the southern parts of the eastern mountains with the mission to leave no goblin alive. It took the groups three years to get the job done pinning the goblin races to Melgs territory capturing them or killing them. at the end battered and bloodied they handed a message to Melg Herself stating that the Hell Heltirm will no longer be passive in the Alliance of Hammers.

    The Common Hall is completed. Gilgamesh of Dell Heltirm, a Dwarven master craftsman, pledges his allegiance to Master Rene-Melg along with 23 Dwarves in his company. It was during this time that the goblins stopped causing trouble in the city.

    Dawnfall, City of Golden Elves, is under attack by Orcs that have proclaimed war against them. As a result, the City becomes closed to outsiders and limits its help to the Alliance of Hammers for some years.

    The foundation of the Castle, tunnels and the side of the mountain are prepared for the building of the Castle. Work begins on massive farmland and pastures both in and outside of the gate. Construction of the Mage Hall is started by the Elves and Dwarves

    Fertile land is cultivated with crops being imported on a massive scale to provide for thousands in the area. Of note the people of the grass plains give various types of cattle and birds to the City.

    Extended Elven Studies
    Diplomatic action

    Ambassador of Dawnfall comes back to the Castle of Melg. Bringing gifts and proclaimed that the Battle with the Orcs is over and that they wish to rejoin the alliance as active participants. A trade agreement of knowledge is formed this year, that they would give some of there magical research to Melg and a party of there mages. The only request made was that they are allowed to work in the Grand Mage Hall.

    Completion of the Mage Hall of Melg
    Construction beginning/end

    Through the combined efforts of the Humans, Dwarves, Elves, and guidance of the Grand Sages, the Mage Hall is completed. Spanning 3 floors of physical, nonphysical, and extra-dimensional spaces, the Hall would provide work spaces and study for 100’s of years to come. Word of it’s completion brought many visitors to bask in its glory or to work, and garnered envy from the major cities and empires around the Melg.

    Melg’s Keep is completed. Master Rene-Melg sits at her desk now both owner of land and castle, and leader of men and guild.

    Open Doors

    The City of Melg, increasingly known as The Fortress in the Mountain, opens its doors to all trade, culture, peoples, and pacts. The Three levels of citizen are established being: Commoner, Adventurer, and Military. The Triad of Law is put in place to help govern all peoples.

    Notable differences are seen on the trade routes among the solidification of roads and rumors of new construction around the valley. Towns slowly pop up in both the Northland and the Southwest past the forest.

    The Farming expansion is completed. The City celebrates an influx of humans from the Northern regions looking for a new way of life. Later that winter the Dwarves return home in good standing with the City.

    War of the Swarms

    To start the new year the Dwarven Nation of Dell Heltirm sends an ambassador from the king’s court to speak of an alliance with the City of Melg. During the summer a few months after negotiations started, an alliance of Gnolls and Kobolds formed and attempted to ravage the city. Over 50 deaths were documented from various races. This would later be named the Battle of Swarms leading to a war of the same name.

    The City spent this year recovering from the Battle of Swarms. A portion of the city abandoned in the Battle of Swarms was rebuilt by the Dwarves and Elves. All races spent the year in mourning.

    At the stroke of midnight in to the new year, Targis Zithare promised all his peoples a new wall. Plans for construction began immediately. The Alliance offered assistance, but Targis refused stating, "this will be the first building blocks to independence."

    Despite Targis rejecting help from the Alliance, Dell Heltirm sends stone and metalsmiths to the City. Even with an appeal from Gilgamesh the workers were not allowed to help on the wall itself. While many of the craftsmen stayed as teachers, Gilgamesh formed a team and began work on a statue of Melg to be placed at the center of the Citadel

    The craftsmen of Dell Heltirm continue to teach and the building of the wall progresses. Around midyear the Statue of Melg is completed.

    The outer stone wall surrounding the production sectors is completed. This helped usher in a time of peace and social prosperity for those in and around the City.

    Melg Returns
    Expedition

    Rene-Melg returns to the City alongside Gelic Garem and Eashra Conaville. They bring with them somber news of Jason Jawwing's heroic death during the journey. Targis feels the age of his late 70's and sees Melg reinstated as leader of the City.

    Continuing to Build
    Discovery, Exploration

    Master Melg distributes scouts across the lands in the West, South, and East. Negotiations for trade with the Alliance of Hammers quickly bears fruit seeing more caravans with a more varied stock coming into the City. During this time a huge number of assorted peoples with combat experience begin to disappear from the City.

    The City brought in materials and supplies in numbers not seen since its inception. With new resources even newer types of caravans emerged and the City saw new technological advancements at an accelerated rate.

    Work forces gathered from all towns and cities around the City of Melg, along with caravans from further reaches including the Far East. During this mingling a messenger from the Empire arrives presumably with peaceful intentions.

    Construction begins on the other side of the City wall at a quick pace. The City of Melg reluctantly enters a trade agreement with the empire.

    Within the main city, the first city block is completed and personal farms are enriched. The foundation for another Grand Wall is laid. Among the caravans traveling from the empire are people that see fit to move to the City of Melg. With them comes many tradesmen in the art of fabric and leatherworking.

    Mages from both Dawnfall and Melg sense something is being disturbed.    Sectors of the wall are being built up and reinforced. A church is built for the worship of non-evil gods. The city proper sees many more improvements including: the construction of many houses, proper flat stone roads, and the early hints of a commercial district.    The second master of Melg, Targis Zithare, dies on the third day of winter. A place in the forest is cleared for his resting place.

    The resting place of Targis Zithare, second master of Melg, is completed as a temple of remembrance.

    A large portion of the commercial district market and surrounding large buildings are completed. Plans for an even larger Church are laid out, one that will include a greater focus on healing and restoration. The Grand Wall remains under construction.

    Fear breaks out in all surrounding areas as Magic users both Arcane and Divine proclaim some of their magic isn't working properly: Many proclaim they can't access their magic at all. Crime rates soar in all towns and cities and the roads become increasingly unsafe.    The Grand Wall of Melg is still under construction albeit at a slower pace.

    A mountain in the North suddenly splits open spilling lava over a large area. A great many died and the land was left with a grave scar as a result.

    Sudden cracks in the Northern Tundra spew water in to the surrounding area. New lakes are formed only for them to freeze over. Razor-sharp hail falls on the region for a month straight killing countless inhabitant.

    The Forests and Fields to the South are now barren as the deserts. Mountains crumble away and many canyons open abound. Many deaths are recorded as a result.    Dawnfall and Melg lose a neighbor and the Alliance loses a friend as an entire city is consumed by the oceans of sand, fire, and monstrous creatures. Little remains of the fallen cities and peoples of the Plains.
