The Shifters vs. The Cheese Wheel Part 1
Deep in the Underdark, underneath the King's Forest, The Shifters are standing poised on a jagged cliff, their capes billowing as if caught in an unseen wind. Below them is a fairly large Devil camp, a facility with the purpose of corrupting all manners of Material Plane dwellers into mindless half-fiend soldiers as fodder for the Endless Blood War.
From this camp, a sudden explosion rips through one of it's larger buildings, casting fiery light into the dim cavern walls. The opportunity has presented itself, as the shifters outside descend down into the heart of the chaos, joining with those who had already made their way inside. It is not long before droves of Mutant Knights, lower ranking Devils, and Mecha Intellect Devours all start swarming them from the four entrances to this room.
(cue fight scene where the Shifters absolutely beat the dogwater out of these mooks with their team work)
In only a short time, the fighting force of this camp has been drastically reduced to the point where even a single one of them could clean the rest of the house. For their plan to succeed, the hostages on the East must be rescued, their research lab in the South must be destroyed, the leader of this camp on the West must be taken care of, and the guarded room on the North holding the Elder Brain must be dealt with. However, before they're able to complete the task at hand, a few unexpected things all to start to occur at once.
A sudden explosion can he heard from the South.
The sounds of people screaming can be heard from the East.
Powerful Magic can be felt from the West.
A sense of unease and tension coming from the North.
Their leader Shifting Green decides it is best to split the party into groups of three to check out the three priority areas.
(Although they did not go here, A resistance party of Duergars has charged into the Southern Lab to beat the piss out of the Mecha Illithid Scientists)
On the East, there are a large number of prisoners that have not been experimented upon in cages. However, there are two Pit Fiends that are trying their best to shove them into an emergency portal they have opened up. Shifting Green, Shifting White and Shifting Pink easily take care of this mess and working to bring the hostages somewhere safer. The place isn't very well built and the explosions and fights happening across the place is causing rubble to fall.
On the North side, Shifting Purple, Shifting Black, and Shifting Blue have all arrived at the scene. Upon arriving at this door which is supposed to be heavily guarded, all they see that it is unlocked and splattered with blood. Inside, the Elder Brain remains contained, twitching but undisturbed.
As they look up, they see a figure clad in a suit just like their theirs, except very sparkly and golden. (Cue Team Rocket Theme soundtrack)
"Prepare for trouble, on the double.
To spread curdled chaos across the land! To melt any hope with our hand!
The Cheese Wheel rolls all over it's foes! Surrender now, unless you wish to be swissed with holes!
Nova Curd, ready to fight. With power aged to perfection, destroying all in sight!"
A strange bird follows down as well "Oh yeah! that's right."
Upon closer inspection, their gear appears to not have any use besides just being really high quality cosplay which they seem either nervous or embarrassed to wear.
The Shifters calling them out on this, deliver a cheesy one liner (possibly cheesier than their speech) and a battle commences between them.
At the far Western reaches of this camp, Shifting Yellow arrives at the "Throne" room of this place, hoping to get in quickly and get out even faster. The entire room exudes complete arrogance, for what purpose does a throne room serve in a facility such as this? However neither the in-charge Martinet or his second-in-comand Galenda Tordick are present. The only thing in sight is an obscene amount of blood sprayed across the floor, the smell of Sulfur and a strange Half-Elven(?) woman sitting on the throne at the far end of this room.
In one hand she is holding is a hand fan, trying to hide her facial expressions while in the other a crystal containing magic that is frozen in time. Upon closer inspection, it is most certainly a spell frozen in time like a spell scroll but of what level? No one knows yet.
She introduces herself as "Cheese-Cheese", claiming to have been waiting for the Shifters for a while now. As Shifting Yellow readies his stance, she starts walking forward a bit and stepping on a Glyph of Warding which activates the Hallow spell around this room. However, she does not seem to have any will to fight yet, only warning Shifting Yellow to keep an eye out for the one behind him.
Before Shifting Yellow is able to fully turn around, he hears the dreaded words "Meeska Mooska Mouskatool" and sees Mystery Mouskatool himself walking through the door, locking it behind him like a horror movie villain.
He simply aura walks towards Shifting Yellow urging him to attack head on. Shifting Yellow charges at him, doing absolutely nothing to him with his fists while taking a mean gut punch in return and nearly getting Pile-Drivered into the floor but using his nimble frame to dodge at the last second.
It is only moments later the Nova Curd and the other Shifters fighting them have burst through one of their walls and are now part of this chaotic fray.
