The Original Dragon of Gaia
As explained by Astraea, the entire realm which is now referred to as Astraea was formed by a seed (not an egg) that grew to become what the Gods called the Original Dragon Asgaroth (There is lore about this name in Faerun too). He created seven autonomous "programs" which the people now only knew to refer to as Grand Spirits because of how strange their existence is. These Grand Spirits are more akin Artificial Intelligence as once they were created, they set about the create the Universe as the people Gaia know it and simply went into a dormant state until they were awakened during a conflict.
In this conflict, a war between Giant and Dragons eventually grew too much to handle as the Elder Evil of Infinity (Although they weren't aware of it yet) led an army of Aboleths and captured the living world for centuries. The mortals who were persecuted started worshiping "Concepts" in their moment of desperation which led to the birth of their Pantheon. They fought against the Aboleths until they fled and then started a fight amongst themselves for supremacy. The Elder Evil revealed its presence by taking over the body of the Original Dragon as the fight between these beings reached a point where the entire realm was in Danger.
Mortals traveled to the quite literal edges of reality where shrines were built to house the Grand Spirits and became their vessels. Two of these beings were the Astral Elf Astraea and the Drow Tartarus. Through the combined might of the Grand Spirits and the Gods, the Elder Evil was driven away.
(Temporarily because as we know now, Tartarus kept it alive so he could merge with it and return the whole of existence to the Void, but after being stopped for the third and final time, his body was yoinked by Wigglesme).
The Seven Grand Spirits in reality are just "Concepts" that embody Fire, Water, Air, Earth, Heaven, Life and Void.
