Pearl Dragon
Basic Information
Anatomy
Pearl dragons are the only known single-eyed dragons species. They possess the four legs and long necks and tails of draconic species, but their "wings" are optimized for maneuvering underwater. As such pearl dragons cannot actually "fly" except in extremely wet weather. Instead, they take long gliding jumps up out of the water. They also have fins scattered about their body, and their "horns" appear more as bony nodules on their heads, suited for ramming into things.
Growth Rate & Stages
As is the case for all gem dragons, pearl dragons at every stage of life are one size category smaller than metallic and chromatic dragons.
Ecology and Habitats
Pearl dragons tend to be found in coral reefs; as a part of their lair effect, the air tends to be damp with either rain, fog, or mist.
Behaviour
Pearl dragons hoard music in various forms. Some might collect songs, others the way specific notes sound in different mediums.
As a part of this, they have a distinct relationship with sirens. Siren pods will often either work as a pearl dragon's servants in return for their musical knowledge or be roving bands of thieves that steal from the pearl dragons.
Breath Weapon: Some kind of sonic stunning or charming effect
By default, pearl dragon scales are a cool light gray with an iridescent sheen to them. However, they also possess the ability to change the color of their scales at will, giving them a kind of camouflage/invisibility affect.
Distant cousins to Chameleos dragons.
