Let Chaos take the World Pt. 1
10th of Alturiak
Far to the north, beyond the reach of most maps and memory, lies a frozen wasteland known only as The Endless Ice, a realm swallowed by perpetual blizzards and silence. Nothing but the remnants of long-forgotten civilizations dot the endless white, their ruins half-buried and wind-scoured, echoing the passage of time and oblivion.
Amid this desolation, a solitary figure trudges onward, wrapped in tattered white robes that blend into the snowstorm. Each step is deliberate, steady against the biting wind. Then, without any clear landmark to guide them, the traveler suddenly stops. They raise their hand slightly, casting the Shape Water spell. he snow and ice around them begin to bend and swirl, sculpted by unseen fingers into the dome of an igloo.
Inside, From beneath their cloak, they produce a bag of holding, its worn leather marked with careful runes and a small stitched labeled “Ingredients", which contains the following.
- 2 cups fresh huckleberries
- ¾ cup sugar
- 3 tbsp flour
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- 1 pie crust (store-bought from Fro Dough's Bakery)
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 egg
- Secret Ingredient 1
- Secret Ingredient 2
Through a long process, this individual uses arcane finesse with such expertise, using Heat Metal to make sure the Pie is always at the correct temperature, Unseen Servant as a helper and even more, they are just about ready to create the perfect pie. However, as it is being ready, the boxes of Secrets are opened.
The first secret ingredient is a substance of pure sugar, Molasses.
The second secret ingredient is a substance of pure chaos, a small red tube simply labeled "Red40".
Through it's combination, a perfect pie is ready. This individual uses the Produce Flame spell to carve out a window on the Igloo and place it on the Windowsill. It's delicious scent spreading across the Land of Ice, as they just simply wait.
They wait and wait, and keep on waiting until they see the one who they were after. In the sky, there is the Deep Gnome Wigglsme-Tigglsme being held by his pants through a hand made of "Pie Scent". He is following the scent, floating through the air until he gets right up to it. He smacks his lips and with a comically large tongue, he unhinges his jaw, eats the pie including the pan in one go, leaving a pie a shaped indent in his belly.
In response, the only thing this individual can do is laugh as they let go of their tattered robes, revealing a vaguely humanoid figure. They are wearing a dress of silvery white, a veil that has a sideways eye covering their face, and a body that is not made of skin, but one that is made of the void itself, with signs of glimmering light occasionally shining on her.
???: Oh, you ate it! You ate it!. You accepted my gift so now you have to listen to me! That's just how the rules work!
WT: Alright, you got me. Shoot.
???: Oh chaos, I bring forth a bargain. For years and years I have looked for a way to spread your love throughout this cold, dark world. One where chaos can truly flourish into a beautiful flower.
Through perseverance have I gained the knowledge to achieve this grand ambition but alas Mystra's shackles on the weave have kept me bound from realizing our dream.
The souls resting under this land of ice weep. They yearn to be heard, they yearn to be seen, they yearn to be free. But the cold world traps them to the ground. Unable to spread their wings and see past this cascading blizzard.
A great fall was their tragedy which led to their demise. To repair what has been, we must break it even further. Through calamity will a world renewed be born.
We have gathered the knowledge and we have gathered the power. But those chains limit the way the world should truly be.
Just once do I wish to be unshackled and show the world magic so brilliant that the very course of fate changes. In turn, all will know your brilliance far and wide. Oh Chaos! Oh Chaos!
WT: Sounds interesting, sure why not. What's the deets?
???: A grand stage has been set, only setting off the fireworks remain.
