Cormyr Wedding Traditions
Handfasting
Towards the end of the wedding ceremony, the couple's hands are tied together with a ribbon and remain that way for the rest of the night. Many couples keep the ribbon as a beloved keepsake.
Gifting
Each of those getting married makes a gift for the other. It is considered an incredible faux pas to simply buy the gift, and still a little gauche take the design to someone else to make. The gift should represent the gift-giver's skills and what they bring to the marriage and be meaningful to the one receiving it.
Royal Traditions
Outfit swap
At the beginning of the wedding, everyone takes an armband indicating if they want a suit, a dress, or if they don't care. At some point during the festivities, everyone's outfit randomly swaps, with dresses and suits reconfiguring themselves to the appropriate size and shape for their new wearer.
Dragon
Every finished bottle gets smashed into the mouth of a metal dragon statue which slowly grows the horns of the dragon. At some point during the night, the dragon also spew alcohol on all the guests. After the wedding, the dragon head is mounted on the gates of the castle. When one member of the wedding party dies, the horns are snapped off as a sign of respect. When both die, the dragon head is moved and mounted over the mausoleum that holds the married couples' bodies.
