Raisa Conch

Raisa Conch (a.k.a. The Howling Whisper)

Raisa Conch is a half-orc from a tribal society of Orcs called the Petrol Horde. The horde hails from the regions of Vashyl Minor which surround the oil swamps of the continent. Within the Horde strength is valued more than anything. Her Father won his seat in the council of elders by fighting his uncle in ritual combat for the seat. While this gave her immediate family sway within the Horde, this was known to only be temporary. All half-orcs in the Horde are separated into warriors and slaves. This was determined through various trials of strength and agility. While she passed, she realized she would never be as strong as her full orc brother Roxas or her father. The Horde saw her potential in the horde as a spy/assassin for the Horde, as the Horde fought for independence of their land. She was the warrior orc the Horde needed her to be, but according to her father, the finesse and agility of her human mother. Though she made a pact with Blood Hunters for strength, which gave her a curse that made her leave the Horde with a promise of making it better.

Personal history

The child of an Orcish elder and human dissonant, she was born into a position of trial. While her mother died after being captured by one of the corporations trying to adulterate the sacred lands of the Petrol Horde, her father was insistent that his daughter would be strong enough to be a member of the tribe. From early Childhood into her teenage years, her father trained her for the Trials that all half orcs in the Horde would have to take. The Trials were to prove the individuals prowess and usefulness in the Horde. Her Father and younger Brother (a full orc) reminded her that failure to succeed meant slavery for her, and to succeed meant celebration and inclusion into the Horde. After grueling trial Raisa fought her final opponent, a young full Orc, that she had to duel into submission. She outwitted the much larger foe, but only after suffering from a gash from two hatchets in the back. After the injury grappling onto the Orcs back to choke him out, and therefore winning the trial. The night after the trial a large party was thrown wear she was given a tattoo down her arm and a familial necklace which no other Orc could rebuke from her. At the party she was allowed to celebrate as most orcs due with ale and other liquors, and if a young male orc was interested she could make him her lover. To which she did, and met a muscular full orc named Kugrash, to which she eventually became engaged to. Her adulthood within the Horde was engraved forever. Though after a mission with her brother went wrong she made a deal with a group of Blood Hunters, and vowed to correct her error at any cost. Though the deal meant that she would have to abandon the Horde, in search of a solution.

She is a beautiful Half-Orc. While lean for an orc, she makes it up with her agility and skill in recon. She however has a dark secret which turns her into a horrific beast.

The Eki-Morlu tribe

After a long arduous journey without Barkin, who by some grace caught up to us, we made it slightly down the river. I really wish that we could find a way to get these vine creature to stop coming after us, though I understand why they do not want us in their home. Speaking of this, we ran into a tribal group called the Eki-Morlu. While we had initially attempted to fight, it was soon obvious that it would not be wise to do so. Thank goodness that Jojery was able to do a spell for some amount of communication, because their language was foreign to us all. We did end up traveling with the group that attacked us, and were treated as trusted prisoners of war, a similar practice to the weary mercenaries we'd capture fighting for the mining corporations on Vashyl Minor. I understood the practices, though the rest of the party seemed hesitant. They did end up taking us to a large city, where we were not going to be let in. Though I stepped forward and gave up my hands for binding, to which the guards began to trust us. This tribe makes me wonder what life could have been like for the orcs of the Petrol Hoarde, if it were not for the mining corporations. We were eventually allowed to see their leader who gave us cursed necklace, which when found I will keep in my possession for safe keepings. They seem to understand hemomancy to some degree, I just wonder if i could find a way to strengthen my powers without harming myself. I did end up bartering for new armor, as mine is still the same as the armor from the trials. To do this I gave up my dagger from the tribe, it was a gift before the trials that my father gave me as a good luck present. I hope that one day my sacrifices will fix my failures to my brother. May Gruumsh give me the power to wipe all of the undead from this plain.

Returning with the cure

This adventure was horrifically insane throughout the entire mission. We began trudging through the marsh lands, and it got messy. This was no less evident when Aggie got eaten by a worm then blew it up from the inside. I also found out from this that Barkin has a soft stomach when it comes to gore. once we encountered the demons, I had unfortunately lost control. I did however get to feel the power of Gruumsh's rage for the first time. I kept swinging uncontrollably. Through the maze of the temple we ventured through, I got to do some more private reflection. This was helpful, but I had to deal with the ghost of a morlu again. I was uneasy but he told me to be careful with the blood curse that I have. He had even given me and the rest of the team new weapons. Once we got our gifts, which I reluctantly took, we began to return to the camp. It was calmer on the return trip, until we arrived at the marsh. Then once again, Aggie had to create more explosions. Then we got to a collection of vine creatures. The team decided to follow Aggie to this religious site, but not before I overreacted. I was afraid I was going to be responsible for the death of many. I threatened harm of my allies, who i hope to one day call friends. We did arrive in time though. We then took up a mission where we will have to travel along the river, as decided by the group. Tonight though I talked to Jojerie about my past. She felt conflicted on what to say to me about my brother, but she has promised to keep it a secret. I just hope i can save his soul before it is gone or he dies from the pain of his wounds. She did not like the fact that I was trying to give up my soul in his place, but that difference between us will never go away. God I hope that Gruumsh will give me strength, I just hope I don't lose faith like my father.

Our First Mission

The trek through the swamps was simply grueling. We encountered Frog-like creatures and vine monsters, though neither were too terribly disturbing. My ranger team saw on our mission what I am, though they do not understand why I am what I am. They are trustworthy, but Jojerie seems conflicted by my ability. Though during the trials she made me more calm and collected, which I am glad for. Her idea of self reflection tempted me away from Gruumsh, and it reminded me of what my father said during a meeting with the elders. His Statement was "Fuck Gruumsh, all he ever does for us is give us power". Though i never understood his statement until recently. I am concerned though of the consequences that my team accosted the grave of what I worry is Morlu. Lest hope that we are not cursed from this.

arrival

I have just landed in the Southern Continent, and it kinda reminds me of some of the darker swamps from home. Waiting in line for a task was so incredibly boring, I just wish it was like home. The camp's organization was less chaotic than the horde, but in a way the unknown outskirts make it seem eerie and unpredictable. I was blessed with the ability to be in a ranger party, lest hope I get to use my skills in the field. One of the members "Aggie" is quite and reserved, and to see a druid with such restraint is something I don't remember growing up. Another member is a Tortle named Barkin, he seems to be goofy, yet experienced. Having two druids makes me happy, because their love of nature reminds me of our love of the land back home. the last member of our party is a half giant named Jojeri. I think that she will make a great rival for me to test my strength against, especially since she out drank me. Though her views on life and death are much different than mine, I feel as though I might learn something from her. I can feel that this land may be where I find the dreaded Lich who has cursed my Brother. I just hope that the other rangers do not stop me when the time comes.
