Two millennia ago, a tiefling warrior hailing from a land far from Fletl and Stylland found himself as ruler of the sister continents. He called himself Helmundr. He had rose to political power in the sutherlands with the help of the High Magister at the University of Magicks, Juletha. At first, ruling over the southernmost part of the continent was enough for him. But the time came when he wanted more. His reign of terror began when he, again with the help of Jaletha, opened a portal to the Abyss. The coast was flooded with demons, leaving it forever changed.   Now with an army of infernal beings at his disposal, he could begin his conquest of the sutherlands in its entirety. He and his army rolled over the human castles and cities, enslaving thousands and killing more. The dwarfs proved to be more of a nuisance. Bunkered in their mountain holds, there was no easy way to pierce their defenses. So Helmundr enlisted the help of the evil dragons.   The most famous of these dragons were Xynorreth the Hellbreather and his two allies, Tyldrorth the Plagued One and Aborrexys Ender of Days. Together they were a red, green and black dragon, a trio to be greatly feared. They struck a deal with Helmundr and began to raid the homes of the dwarves. One by one, these homes fell to the dragons but one stood strong: King's Pick of the Mithmine Clan. To finally conquer the dwarves, Helmundr had to persuade the races of the underdark to join him.   The duergar were easily persuaded to aid in his conquest, their hatred for the dwarves already motivation enough; But even a trio of dragons and an army of duergar was not enough, King's Pick stood strong, led still by Moradin, God and first of the dwarves. Helmundr convinced the drow to fight for him, promising them the elven-dominated continent of Stylland. So they aided him, commanding the duergar and their own forces from below, as he, the dragon trio and his army of demons assaulted from above. In the end, King's Pick was brought to heel, Moradin, or at least his original aspect, slain.   With most of the continent of Fletl taken, he set his eyes towards Stylland, in appeasement to the driow. Qaleca, a drow mage, chosen of the Matron Mother and Champion of Lolth came to the surface with armies of her own, as she and Helmundr raged throughout the eastern continent. In time however, she was slain. Helmundr was forced to retreat back to Fletl. Here, he embarked on what would become his final campaign as he attempted to take over the final standing nation, Regina.   Having amassed an army of all the opposing races between both continents, the armies of free folk stood against Helmundr's army of demons, dragons, and underlings. The battle swung in the favor of the free folk when Helmundr was killed, a simple sword struck through his chest by a peasant, encasing he tiefling in a tomb of stone.   It is now the year 2077 after the Great War. Conflict once again stirs throughout the sister continents, as an empire seeks expansion, two nations reignite old conflicts and a hero king is missing, presumed dead. The balance of power and peace is destabilizing in this time of conflict, as the days of a new era, an age of hero, dawn upon the world.
