Olan

Olan is a town along the Tesser River in Northern Fultar in the Empire of Fultar. Olan is the major Imperial presence in the Tesser River valley, and the largest town between Critlip and Immersea.  Olan serves as the gateway to much of the Tesser River valley north of the river itself.
Olan started as Fultonian military fort that was built upon a narrow yet deep area of the Tesser River that allowed the construction of bridges to cross and defend the river.
Olan technically remains under the sovereignty of the Crown; however, the day to day management is by the Town Council, which have purchased a charter to run their internal and economic affairs.
Olan has a large contingent of cavalry trained to battle the Guar nomads. Recently, in Year of Iron 902, sections of Olan was rebuilt after large parts, primarily newer settlements outside of the town walls, were burnt to the ground by a surprise Guar attack that included Fultonians being bribed by the Guar.
