Ocuir

An unusual outcast from his own society of lizardfolk, Ocuir is a civil engineer. Weaker than most of his kin, but smarter than any, he is well known and regarded for his passion for architecture, and his capability of tearing down buildings and opponents massivly larger than him with little effort.

Personal history

Back a time ago. Long time with the great shining lights of the dark. Think back to the first memory, Tobor Trekis, life breath. Hatching loud with isthasyi, brothers, and myvishi, sisters. We crawl from safety to live. But some do not survive hatch. They weak, they small, and we feed on the dead, for we strong. A few isthasyi fight, but do not notice when small bites taken out of food. I live, I survive.
It not long before the Tobor Troth, ahh… caregiver to show. She grab, she pull, and she bring to Ankin, our teacher. Each Isthasyi get Ankin, each Ankin get Isthasyi. My Ankin teach about our Okarthel, where we live, eat, sleep, fight, and die. My ankin teach me of death, life, and fighting just days after the Tobor Trekis. My ankin was named Qanesc. He explained that all Ankin name the kluchud, spawn, they teach. Qanesc was named for his scales, that shine in starlight, like the water.
Qanesc was angry often. I ask many questions of him. I ask too many, he hit. I learn nothing, he hit. I no spend time in play with isthasyi, he hit harder. Play is lifeblood of kluchud. Teach fight, teach strength, teach honor and deceit. My isthasyi earn the word over many days of warmth. As do new kluchud earn name of isthasyi. One isthasyi earn new name same time I earn mine. He named Ternock, for his hide tougher than most scales. I call him my wiot, my foe. I earn Ocuir, to see. I see far and above. Ternock see short, and behind, so I his wiot.
Many a time we fight. It good for isthasyi, learn strength. We fight for food, later for lady, always for wiot. I know ternock good for strength, good for isthasyi, good for Okarthel. But he no good for irthir, learning.
After long time, grow strong, Ankin bring me for maulk, hunt. Great honor to feed tribe and self. We swim long, sneak and track, and I try, try learn what the land learns, and teaches. I succeed, we find great creature, much meat. We feed, we laugh, we celebrate Okarthel. I earn name of Ocuir that day.
Strength grows, moons pass, and a new rimem, chieften, is made. He strong, but coward. He send strongest to scout Okarthel. Qanesc was sent, so I go. We travel swamp for moons, and more, I learn to kill, hunt, track. I still not strong to go alone, and isthasyi never go alone anyway. We hunt, fight, survive, and learn Okarthel like no other, along with other.
I know one day, during time under coward rimem, Makaid his name. We wake to sound of buzzing, and we fear, we fight off the intruders, five of them, flying tobor vulsh, life eater. Ankin get in eye. Kill Tobor Vulsh with its own vulshic. Go back to Okarthel and he gets honored. But spend many moons under stars. Ankin Qanesc proud of injury, made many kluchud.
Now come tale of cheek. Scar run neck to brow, bring pride. Ankin Qanesc called to Okarthel, gets told of danger to Okarthel. Men with litrix, armor, bearing symbols of ancient kingdom. Okarthel angry, Rimem Makaid angry, isthasyi angry, I angry. We know of slaughter, and they no pay tribute. Ankin Qanesc lead other isthasyi to battle, ambush danger, we eat later.
Ankin Qanesc lead seven, and me, to danger passing. We all wait in water, ready strike. We find four men, one thin and strange, one thin and pointy, two thick with Quanesc litrix, armor of shine. I think make Ankin jealous, his name before him, he struck first. Jump out water with spear, straight through thick quanesc litrix. Other three men scared, try run, but Ternock and his Ankin, Riliw, Crush, fight other Litrix wearer. I study other two men, with two attacking the pointy, but they ixen, fire, before retreat. They cowards, fight honor back home. I fight, stab pointy ixen wielder with spear, he falls. Than I feel heat, and see blood, burning on cheek. The last one, strange looking, fight with little edar cayosin, earth blade, which shined with blood, my blood. Ankin Qanesc try and kill strange man, but I stop. He get honor from tobor vulsh, I get honor from strange man. We fight, I bleed, and hurt, but I fight. Others dead while fight. But, I win, spear foot and slash throat. We cheer, I given honor of heart, eat before honor Ankins, and earn respect of Ternock, still wiot, but respect. We bring home and we eat, Okarthel in joy, I earn fully belly, still earn Ocuir.
It my days of second warmth before Rimem Makid bring news. Men come, peaceful, bring tribute and trade. Ten men, two hundred isthasyi, they smart, no bring cayosin to tribe. They bring strange things, some make Rimem mad, others happy. Two men look strange like heart I ate. Isthasyi explain men are men and wo-men to me. They are the breeders and Tobor troth of men. I no understand properly. Why Tobor Troth away from eggs? Why go into Okarthel without Ankin? They strange, but they show me things. Books, or turasjiric, they showed me. I understand nothing on ‘page’, but they show me other thing in book. Teach me of ‘Farm,’ ‘Livestock,’ and the one thing I always know since, ‘Plow.’ Though I think nothing of ‘plow’ for a time, they leave with many gifts, and leave many gift for tribe. Tribe happy, we celebrate, I learn “Hello” first time.
It three days of warmth later, my fifth, when trees break in woods, deep croaks in the night, and other isthasyi start qe gethrisja, gone, from Okarthel. Ankin Qanesc spend time on rocks, no fight, so I given rise to arytiss. Isthasyi with no ankin, no kluchud. Not enough days of warmth for that. We gather around Rimem, who tells of the croakers rising in the swamps. We have them for food, for glory, and for honor to kill and eat. Half of my arytiss and ankin isthasyi travel into the swamps, and we fight for a long time. For every isthasyi dead, we kill ten croakers. For every wound we recieve we give twenty. We hunt, kill and feast for two days of warmth, sending scraps back to Okarthel. After two days of warmth, we get word back. Rimem Makid is dying. As soldiers, we return, and we know it is croaker weyog, poison, that kill him. We honor him as we honor the others. We feast upon him, and fighting commences to bring the new Rimem. Many fought, much was lost, but a new Rimem Pab, named for his patience in ambush, and fine Ankin indeed. He came to power, and knew that as our previous chief was killed by them, the croakers must die hard.
Rimem Pab sent many arytiss towards croakers, and we fight harder than ever. We defeat them, eat them, and burn croaker lands. This made the lands fertile later, and we found many a fruit at rest in its place. Great place for my fellow myvishi to harvest food. We returned, and we rejoiced, and ate like kings, and wore leathers of croaker flesh for two warm seasons before they rotted. I know now it was the swamp that wore out the leather, but we always lived this way in Okarthel. It was this that still earned me Ocuir.
It was my tenth days of warmth that changed my tobor for good. I had grown itov, love, for one of my myvishi, and wished to mate, though Ternock also had eyes for her. I remember her eyes the most, strong, spirited. She was named Toma, for sight. She was a fierce Tobor Trekis, fighting off many a croaker during our battles from our eggs, and kluchud. She had grown to where she could breed and Ternock stepped forward first. Angry at my wiot, I challenged him for Toma, and we fought. I got my second scar when he dug into my arm, than slammed me into the ground. I was loex, dead at this loss as I could not make strong kluchud without strong breeder. So I heal, and stayed loex all the while. It was during the time of finrai, harvest, that I was still healing, and was sent out with the myvishi to gather. Without thinking, I came upon the croaker campsite, where I found itov for the offerings of our Okarthel.
I know not why, but I returned to the croaker site many time. One day, I was curious about a deep puddle within the camp, recently upturned by the croaker building I helped to burn and topple into the swamp. So, with healing arm, I swam to the bottom of the puddle, and saw nothing. Until I saw a Qanesc in the bottom. I dug it out, when I saw what it was. It brought me back all these days of warmth ago, to the pictures of the book before me. It was a Plow. Charir, red, of edar. Excited, I ignored my pain and brought the Plow above. The wood nearly rotted away, I no care. I bring it to my Okarthel, where I examined and admired it.
I healed soon after finding plow, but after, I spent every day looking at it. Remembering its use in fields, making food. But we had nothing like that here. I wanted to learn, and ithir became my new tobor. My loex was gethrisja, and with it, I found what none ever spoke of. I found power to thirku, change, without arcaniss, magic. Arcaniss was thought only thirku possible in tribe. But this plow, had power to thirku all land. I learn later of names of “Lever” and “Triangle,” but the power to thirku wandered in my ithir tobor.
It was the rocen, awakening of the world that I started looking for more power to thirku. More knowledge. I ithir about “Wedges” from examining roots, and axels from mens wooden beasts, called ‘carts’ or ‘wagons’ that they bring for trade. I remember the first time I even used one of my thirku. It was my twelth days of warmth, a tree had fallen over a spot our eggs were in, and we needed move it or risk the kluchud before birth. Many of my isthasyi tried, but the tree was too large. I remembered about a ‘pully’ I had been thinking of, and collected every shred of rope in the Okarthel that I could. Nine hundred feet of rope, tied off in every possible direction to a nearby tree that I cut with slots. I had everyone pull, and we moved the tree, and found only one lost egg. That day I earned Ocuir, but also earned strength and honor.
This lead us to one rocen ago. The winter passed fine, it was my fifteenth, and soon to be sixteenth day of warmth. But our rocen was siksta. This was a sign of Rimem Pab not being fit for Rimem, and he lost his challenge to Rimem Nao. He was there to see my thurku save our eggs and he gave upon me, and me alone a geath, geass, quest, to go seek my knowledge outside our Okarthel, as if I succeed, I could save the tribe. If I fail, It was one less mouth to feed. None of my isthasyi left our Okarthel, but my desire to learn was stronger than any fear of alone. So I agreed. Our Rimem Nao informed me of sacred right of passage for this quest, and looking, I agree. I go out of Okarthel, I may return no longer an Isthasyi. I have name burned into chest, to show I am outsider to all Isthasyi, and can never become Rimem. I agree, and so we take the hot edar, it as charir as the sun, and burn “gethrisja” into my chest. It burn. I take burn because I know on return, I, Ocuir, will earn my name yet again. My rimem will earn his name Nao, wisdom, and I shall be sung of as a Seian, a hero, for all time.

Sexuality

Ocuir orriginaly defined himself as a pure lizardfolk, unable to have any sort of intimate relationship with those outside of his species. After joining with his original adventuring party and gaining a romantic relationship with an Undine, he has expanded his definition to include anyone that he would be able to make children with.

Education

After leaving his tribe, Ocuir made his way throughout the world, collecting books, and learning a multitude of languages in order to better ply his trade as an engineer. Though most considered him monstrous, and found ways to throw him out of town before he even arrived, Ocuir made no effort to take it in vain, and instead did what he could outside of cities, improving infastrucutre in order to enter, and learn more about language, and other feats of engineering.

Employment

After scavaging around for what he could find in his world by normal means, Ocuir was picked up by a group of adventurers. Time and time again, Ocuir proved himself more than a capable party member with a cool head, and innovations to defeating enemies. Between their adventurs, the party set up a small kingdom, with Ocuir as the master architect creating magical golems, and entire structures with his specialization in civil engineering.
The adventuring caraeer eventually lead Ocuir and his party to take on extradimensional beings, dracoliches, and prevented the destruction of entire societies, making them heros in ocuirs original realm.
