FAQ

I'm not sure how X Works.

As a site index, UBuild attempts to keep links between pages in order to answer questions as honestly and accurately as possible. If you cannot find the answer through reading the page, check any links or tooltips around what you are reading to get a better answer. If you are still having issues, talk to the GM or admin team so we can discover the issue, and improve our site for future use. These updates may not be possible immediately however, so please be patient!

Characters

I like this races abilities, but I don't like the style.

When it comes to races, racial abilities, and how anything looks within UBuild, style is left up to the discretion of the player. A core concept behind UBuild is that your character or their ancestors, came from somewhere within the infinite multiverse to arrive in the world, and as such, everything is within the realm of possibility. There is nothing stopping you from creating a rainbow colored tiefling, a water breathing human, a ten foot tall dwarf, or three halflings in a trenchcoat.

Kingdoms

How much Funding can I spend every kingdom phase?

Kingdoms can spend as much funding as they desire, even forcing their funds to reach 0 (but never below). Your funds do count as a kingdom stat however, and can still apply penalties on your other kingdom stats if they are at 0, or 100, or anywhere in between. See the kingdom stat penalties under Ubuild 0.2 Kingdom Rules for additional info.

I don't want to use worldanvil to submit my proclimations/actions.

That is absolutely fine, instead, feel free to copy the below form, and you can submit it directly over the UBuild discord. We can also use google docs/sheets, or whatever you feel comfortable using outside of discord as well.

**Action 1:** ---

**Action 3:** ---
**Date of Submission:** ---

Show spoiler
Name: The name of your kingdom.
Proclimation: The full paragraph proclimation of your kingdom for the kingdom phase.
Actions: detail the ,, or in this section. Make note of what hexes, kingdoms, characters or the like that this effects. Note that this does not have to be submitted by each week, but if it is not submitted, then no actions will take place. You may always perform partial actions throughout the week and wait to see what takes place before deciding on another action.
Date Of Submisson: It is reccomended to keep your submissions up to date, so that if the GM notices that your submission isn't current, or from a previous week, they can reach out to you to confirm.

What if I don't submit a kingdom phase in time?

The proclimation phase takes place every sunday, and a kingdom phase can be submitted up until the moment that the GM reviews the kingdom phase. Should you fail to submit your proclimation by that time, the previous proclimation will stand, as per the normal rules. If you do not submit your actions before the week is over, then you will lose out on actions you did not take.
If you do not respond to an attack on your kingdom by sunday, then your kingdom will take the penalties for doing so. Should your kingdom have an event, you will be notified, and if no response has been given by the next kingdom phase, the event will be delt with as is what is deemed appropriate by the GM. Anything to keep the stats of your kingdom up, without spending money.
If your kingdom goes into rebellion, as before, you will be notified as per normal events. If your kingdom dissolves because of rebellion by that point, the player has been given plenty of notice about their kingdom falling into dissaray, and the kingdom will be fully dissolved. Hexes can be claimed without issue by other kingdoms, as well as settlements by players or kingdoms.

Settlements

I still want to play the regular game, but I want to dip my toes into the responsibility of running a kingdom. How can I do this?

There are two ways active players can participate directly in the kingdom building aspect of ubuild. First is through a democracy, where their peers can vote on who gives the 2 paragraph proclimation each week. The seccond way is for a player to become the mayor of a settlement. This gives a more basic version of the kingdom building aspect, that doesn't deal with obtaining hexes, discoveries, or even activly building an army. Instead, this allows settlements to use their own rules, regulations and funding in order to increase their level. See the Settlements page for more information.
