Education, Degrees & Licenses

Characters in UberSpace, during the 10 years between age 18 and 28 have the opportunity to attend University to gain one or more degrees and licenses that will be useful within the game.

$100K GCR per year of education. 4 years per degree.

Below are the Degree/License programs that are currently available:

The following degrees (licenses) are required to legally operate a Space-Capable vessel AND end up giving you a LICENSE in whatever program you complete in:
Piloting

• Needed for Pilot license to fly a ship

Science/Detection/Scanning

• Needed to Crew Science on a ship

Operations / Communications

• Needed to Crew Ops/Comms on a ship

Engineer

• Needed to Crew Engineering on a ship

Command/Leadership

• Needed to Captain a Ship

Tactical & Weapons

• Needed to Crew Tactical on a ship that has mounted weapons

You CAN get more education during the actual gameplay, HOWEVER it will come very slowly and only if your character is sequestered at University getting the education. You may want to sequester your character at the end of your session if you believe it will be a while before you’ll end up playing again. As sessions are played, months and possibly years elapse. When your character has spent 48 months in University for a specific program, you will receive the Degree and any related Licenses upon completion.

2 degrees (8 years) = 80K annual income

• + 20K / year of work exp
• Year 9 = 80K
• Year 10 = 100K
• Total = $180K minus living exp

2.5 degrees (10 years) = annual income
