Waterdeep

Waterdeep, also known as the City of Splendors, is the most important and influential city in the North and perhaps in all Faerûn. 
It is a truly wonderous cosmopolitan city of great culture that attracts the most talented artisans, artists, and scholars from across the Realms, as well as a commercial hub for financial interests along the coast and beyond.
It is the most powerful and influential member-states of the Lords' Alliance, the coalition of nations and city-states that seeks to maintain order along the Sword Coast and the North.

Trollskull Manor

The Home of our Heroes!
Trollskull was the reward given by Volothamp for completing their first mission. Though the place was severely run down, they gradually restored the building and reopened the Tavern.
Trollskull is also home to a ghost, who likes to pour the occasional beer.

The Yawning Portal

The Yawning Portal is where our adventure first began. It is here they received their first mission from Volothamp Geddarn, and they still return here regularly to seek information.
The Yawning Portal is run by Durnan, and they are friendly towards the Barmaid, Bonnie.

Xoblobs Shop

This shop is named after the stuffed beholder in the window.
Every wall is painted purple and every dusty knickknack on the shelves is dyed a deep violet. The shopkeeper is a gnome who is also called Xoblob. He dresses himself in plum-coloured robes.

Government

Waterdeep is ruled by a sixteen-seat council whose membership is largely secret. These hidden Lords of Waterdeep maintain their identities behind magical masks, and while they rule in public, no one knows the true identities of most of them.
The Open Lord of Waterdeep is the sole member of the Lords of Waterdeep whose identity was publicly known. The current Open Lord of Waterdeep is Larael Silverhand. Before her was Dagult Neverember.
