Midra'Rajuls are a bat race native to the cave systems that are underneath the Kyrostom desert. A small race when compared to something like humans or orcs, but they are just as able as many of the other races. They possess wings to be able to fly around, and can fit within smaller places. Those that travel up to the surface are marked forever though. Their skin literally undergoes a change where their skin darkens and becomes charred, usually a gray, brown, or black. When this change occurs, the sun literally boils them, those that survive become adapted to the sun, and their eyes slowly get adjusted to it.
History
The humans that settled within the Kyrostom desert started to explore the vast cave system that was under their new homeland. This gave way for them to discover a sentient bat races that has lived their entire lives underground. These are the Midra'Rajuls or Raji for short. The Kyrostom established a peace between the Raji, that continues to this day.
Culture
Midra'Rajuls or Raji for short, are quite a developed people before the Kyrostoms visited them. They elect individuals to run sections of the caves every 50 years and has a head cave master that the other cave masters elect in. They are very efficient with what they can get done inside of the caves. The Raji who visited the surface for the first time were surprised when their skin started to boil. This process takes about a week to fully get over and is extremely painful for the Raji. Those that do take this journey are looking for adventure or to even see the sun. The Kyrostoms provide an easy transition for this process for those that want to live on the surface.
Physical Description
The Raji are very similar to a normal bat, except larger. They don't have hair though, and instead have a leathery hide. They have a triangular snout, beady eyes, and have two very large pointed ears that can move in almost every direction to pick up on sounds. They tend to have hook like talons for both their feet and hands, 4 fingers and a thumb for each. Their forearms contain their wings that they can retract that is about the size of their body each. Those that live in the cave systems tend to actually have white skin, and red eyes. Those that make it up to the surface and have their skin burned tend to have gray, brown, or black skin, with black eyes.
Midra'Rajul Names
Raji names tend to be very short grunts to other races. Most of their names are unisex so sometimes its harder to tell the sexes apart from each other.
