The most populous race in the world of Tyrae

Although not native to Tyrae, the human race has left a permanent mark on the continent. Traveled from lands thousands of years ago alongside the dwarves and elves, they have splintered into many different nations, countries, and cultures. Some follow their customs that they were raised with, while many become more ingrained with other cultures that interest them, while some only care for themselves. Some of the other races have befriend the humans, while some test their resolve, while others care to see them destroyed. There is one thing that humans value above all else though, and that is their curiosity.

History

From the big three races that traveled over the northern sea to get to Tyrae, humans, elves, and dwarves, there are some conflicting sources of the races origins. Elves with their long lives state that they have created the humans to act as servants for them. The dwarves however have another creation myth, that they were made the same way as the dwarves, crawling from the rivers on the surface though instead of the cavernous mountains that the dwarves came from. When they three races came to the continent to Tyrea thousands of years ago, they dwarves and elves splintered and broke away from each other, creating a bitter hate for the other race. Some humans went to one side, some to the other, while others created their own nations. In time six major cultures have sprouted forth and will be discussed below.

Physical Description

With their penchant for migration and conquest, humans are more physically diverse than other common races. There is no typical human. An individual can stand from 5 feet to a little over 6 feet tall and weigh from 125 to 250 pounds. Human skin shades range from nearly black to very pale, and hair colors from black to white (curly, kinky, or straight males might sport facial hair that is sparse or thick. Humans reach adulthood in their late teens and rarely live even a single century.

Human - Generic

Nostros

Culture

The Nostros believe in the hardworking nature of others within their group. They believe that most races are good natured, however those that have done them very wrong, they tend to get aggressive towards those races. Many races from the Osinirim Federation have done this group of the people wrong and are very distrustful on them. Many soldiers and fighters from this faction do not take off their armor for anything, almost wearing it as a second skin, and consider it a taboo to remove it. Those not trained within the ways of the warrior, tend to usually be farmers, workers, and traders. They have stayed with the Elves and signed a pact of alliance with others to create the Human-Elf Alliance (With the Elves, Woukou, Solakez, and Centaurs).


Appearances and Names

Many have an average to muscular build. Their hair color ranging from auburn to blond. They tend to have fair skin than not, but those that don't don the armor usually become tan working outside. The common eye colors are blue, green, olive, or hazel. Most men have beards, but shave them more often than not. Women usually braid their hair. (Real world inspiration: England, Scotland, and Ireland)

Their naming structure follows this order: First, Surname

Human - Nostros (Variant)

Equipment Skills: You gain proficiency in heavy armor and shields. (If you gain proficiency with heavy armor again (like from a class or a feat, you ignore the strength requirements of heavy armor)).
Armor Familiarity: In Nostros culture, your armor is pretty much your second skin. You can ignore currently equipped armor weight (shields not included) when calculating your encumbrance. (You still have all penalties that come with the armor you wield).
Starting Equipment: You can ignore your armor choices for starting equipment and can instead chose to have Chain mail and a shield.

Woukou

Culture

The Woukou are tactical people. They excel in the form of reading their opponents and formulating a strategy, either planned ahead, or out in the middle of a battle. They tend to be reserved and hold their families with high regard. They tend to be isolationist when dealing with other races and cultures, but they have been forced out of their homelands and are more scattered now. They were forced to sign the Human-Elf Alliance more out of a necessity to survive other than a form of lasting alliance with the other groups who signed.

Appearances and Names

Lithe but fit frames, with their hair ranging from white to black, but tend not to have colorful hair. They tend to have a pale skin, but same can be tan depending on much sunlight they get. They tend to have curved eyes and tend to have a darker color eyes, hazel, brown, and sometimes black. They tend to keep longer hair, but most males shave their beards. Longer hair individuals usually tie up their hair in knots, buns, or tails using bands or hair pieces. (Real world inspiration: England, Scotland, and Ireland)

Family Name Examples: Honda, Sato, Suzuki, Takahashi, Tanaka, Watanabe, Ito, Nakamura.
Male Individual Name Examples: Haruto, Minato, Haruki, Sōta, Yūto, Riku, Yuito, Aoto.
Female Individual Name Examples: Honaka, Akari, Himari, Mei, Ema, Yui, Mio, Ichika.

Human - Woukou (Variant)

Equipment Skills: You gain proficiency in Martial Blade, Firearm Rifles, and vehicles(sea).
Focused Counter: Woukou have mastered the art of focusing their attacks and to bend the enemies around them. You have advantage on all reactions after using a Ready action.
Starting Equipment: You start with a katana.

Solakez

Culture

Most people within this culture believe in the light god, Ralos. They tend to be very zealous in their belief of him. Many tend to decorate their clothes and wear colorful markings (usually dried sand (vibrantly colored) mixed with a base, or sometimes these markings are carved into their skin as tattoos). Most crimes that happened within their borders tend to have the criminal get exiled. If they belong to their faction, they are usually branded on the back of the neck with a brand to mark them as such. Usually open to outsiders as long as you don't insult them, their customs, or their deity. They joined with the Human-Elf Alliance to help their human brethren.

Appearances and Names

They tend to have an average build, but are usually taller on average than the other humans. Their hair ranging from shades of red, orange, and yellow. Their skin are a usually dark color, from an olive, brown, to chocolate dark. Their eye colors are a very vibrant color, greens, blues, and reds, usually as bright as gemstones. Most actually shave their heads, but those that keep some hair usually have some position of power. The hair is usually stylized in a form of braids (Think cornrows).

Their naming structure follows this order: First, Surname

Female First Name Examples: Maria, Ysabel, Catalina, Ynes, Beatriz, Francisca, Ana, Teresa.

Human - Solakaz (Variant)

Ability Score Increase Your Constitution and Wisdom each increase by 1.
Size Medium

Alignment: Humans tend toward no particular alignment. The best and the worst are found among them.
Size: Humans vary widely in height and build, from barely 5 feet to well over 6 feet tall. Regardless of your position in that range, your size is Medium.
Languages: You can speak, read, and write Common and Sun.
Skills: You gain proficiency in the Religion skill.
Sun Prayer: Once per short rest, as a bonus action, you can pray to Ralos, the Light God, to bless your currently equipped weapon. This will add 1d6 Radiant Damage to your next strike. This effect wears off when you strike an enemy, or after 2 hours. Your weapon will glow like a torch (25ft bright light radius, 50ft dim light radius) until the effect wears off.
Starting Equipment: You start with the holy symbol for Ralos, the Light God. (If you don't already start with one.)

Kyrostom

Culture

Growing up in the vast Kyrostom desert has hardened this group of humans. They have adapted well within their homeland. Well know for their shrewd business and their unmatched marksmanship with firearms. They are the most open for trying new things and ideas and pride their knowledge they have maintained. Their grand merchant caravans are a sight to behold as they travel their lands. Most of their villages and cities are actually just a large congregation of traveling caravans traveling the desert. Prominent and important figures usually embed jewelry and have piercings. They are in an alliance with the Dwarves and Berzerkrs called the Dwarvern Coalition.

Appearances and Names

They have an average build, but short in statue. They most often have black hair than not, but can have other colors like reds and browns. Well know for their dark skin, ranging from a milk chocolate to dark chocolate. They tend to have dark colors for their eyes, like brown or almost black light. Men usually wear their beards long and usually look scraggly. Women tend to keep their hair short, or sometimes even shave their heads.

Human - Kyrostom (Variant)

Shrewd Business: You will never have disadvantage when it comes to Persuasion, Intimidation, Perception, Insight, and Deception checks when haggling or bartering for goods and services.
Starting Equipment: You start with a flintlock pistol, firearm tools, a firearm pouch of lead balls (good for 20 shots).

Berzerkrs

Culture

Probably the most secluded of the human races. They are a wise, headstrong, and prideful people. They tend to live in nature and tend to act as the guardians of the beauty of the bounty of nature. They tend to wander the world and create communities around beautiful groves and works of art within nature. Most of these communities tend to be small and are usually not fond of outsiders, since they tend not to trust them. They are in an alliance with the Dwarves and Kyrostoms called the Dwarvern Coalition.

Appearances and Names

Most are tall and muscular and they tend to have a peach up to a tan skin tone. They tend to have black, brown, blond or red hair color. Most have blue eyes, but can have a range of green, olive, or brown, but those tend to be more rare. Men where long beards like dwarves that are well kept. Both sexes tend to braid their hair and usually adore their hair with flowers.

Their naming structure follows this order: First, Location of Birth
Male First Name Examples: Lucas, Liam, Ragnar, Hugo, Erik, Mikael, Lars, Johan, Karl.
Female First Name Examples: Alice, Olivia, Astrid, Maja, Vera, Ebba, Ella, Wilma, Lilly.
Location of Birth Examples: of the Eastern Grove, of the Red River, of the Kyrostom Mountains, etc.

Human - Berzerkr (Variant)

Ability Score Increase Your Strength and Wisdom each increase by 1.

Skills: You gain proficiency in the Nature skill.
Equipment Skills: You gain proficiency in one weapon class of the following: Martial Heavy Axe, Martial Heavy Blade, or Martial Heavy Blunt
Strong Arms: You can ignore the two-handed weapon property on melee weapons.
Starting Equipment: You start with one weapon you are proficient in. The one you pick, can be used as a spellcasting focus or a monk weapon, if relevant to your class.

Ali'zards

Culture

These are corrupted humanoids that have demon blood flowing through their skin. Ali'zards are corrupted through drinking of demon blood, whether forced or willing and are not born, they are turned. Even though the demons were slain years ago, most sects seems they are trying to bring them back within the shadows of other cultures. Others of the Ali'zards though just want to be left alone and try to blend into other socities. Most are ostracized from factions, but are welcome with those with evil affiliations.

Appearances and Names

Since Ali'zards are made, they tend to have all different kinds of people within their ranks, but their skin tend to be pale rather than not with black veins that are visible through the skin, with a shade of blue, red, or purple. Their eyes tend to glow in the dark slightly, and those that are more corrupted tend to have black sclera. Some might even have horns, claws, or a spaded tail.

Their naming structure follows this order: Original name, sect of demons (if applicable)
Sect of demons struture: usually a rank or name of the house of demons usually in the Infernal language.

Human - Ali'zard (Variant)

Ability Score Increase Your Intelligence and Charisma each increase by 1.
Size Medium
Speed Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Age: Humans reach adulthood in their late teens and live less than a century.
Alignment: Humans tend toward no particular alignment. The best and the worst are found among them.
Size: Humans vary widely in height and build, from barely 5 feet to well over 6 feet tall. Regardless of your position in that range, your size is Medium.
Languages: You can speak, read, and write Common and Infernal.
Equipment Skills: You gain proficiency in the following: Disguise Kits, Melee Martial Exotic, Simple Crossbows, and Martial Crossbows.
Demonic Blood: As an action, if you have a bladed weapon or a knife, you can coat your currently equipped weapon or ammunition in Demon's Blood Poison at the cost of 3 HP. It'll last on the weapon or ammunition until you strike the next opponent or until an hour has passed, whichever comes first.
Starting Equipment: You start with one of the following groups: (whip, sickle, and knife) or (hand crossbow, a bundle of 20 crossbow bolts, and knife)
