Ask and Embla

Summary

Not so long after the creation of the realms, Odin, God of Knowledge and Allfather was wandering the coast of one of the new worlds. He found two tree trunks, or pieces of driftwood lying on the beach. He shaped them as man and woman, and gave them life. He called them "Ask" and "Embla", and gifted them this world of Midgard. They are said to be the father and mother of all humans.
