The era marks the domination of humans across the landscape. Human populations explode due to the development of permanent settlements, agriculture, and increased technology.
While the true history of The Unraveling is unknown, tales suggest it was the consequence of individuals tampering with The Weave, destabilizing the foundation for which magic was built upon.
After the fall of the Cidian Empire, the remaining peoples were left to start anew. Many of the former empirical territories now hold the largest sway across the continents.
The Era of Darkness immediately follows the events of the Unraveling. The era is named for the mysterious disappearance of all magic from the land for a period of about 300 years. The lack of magic was devastating to the Cidian Empire, experiencing an immediate power vacuum after all the elite in their floating cities crashed to the earth and having significant causalities. This time is also represented by great famine, spreading of disease, decline of trade, increased instability, and mass migrations away from urban centers.
The Orc Wars were a series of battles and skirmishes which occurred in the now northern parts of Orlond. The Wars were a military contest between humans and orcs over territorial expansion. The Orc Wars were won by the new human civilization of Orlond, due to the union of the nearby human settlements and the reappearance of magic once more. The remaining Orc Hoard was pushed further north, beyond the Stonemarch Mountains.
The Realm of Orlond was founded after the Orlond Concord, where the local human settlements banned together to fight back the Orc Hoards to the north.
Piterryss the White Dragon attacks Orlond from the north, establishing his new lair in the Stonemarch Mountains and ruling over his new territory for half a decade. He amasses great wealth and grows fat by his subjects. The White Tyrants reign ends when Irsynth the Braveheart, a Bronze Dragon bands together with local militia to take back Orlond.
The Kingdom of Orlond is established to better the realm under the leadership of the monarch. Orlond begins construction on new government buildings, temples, and defensive structures to better the land and its people. Prosperity is brought to the realm as the economy booms, trade is plentiful, and the population begins to increase.
Over the course of multiple days and battles, a significantly sized Orc Horde raided and sieged the Arituvae Vandor and the Elven city of Mytha La'alus and its surrounding settlements. The Orcs outnumbered the Elven people, forcing the children of Corellon to escape to their neighbor Orlond for refuge. The Orcs ransacked everything the Elves loved, created, and tended to, leaving nothing but ruins in their wake.
Similarly to the sacking of Mytha La'alus a few hundreds year before, the Orc Horde crashes against the Mountain Dwarf forces of the city of Cristor Werk. The Orc invaders captured the city for themselves and forced the Dwarves to flee to Orlond. It is believed that the Orcs still live in the stronghold today, using it as their main settlement to raid and plunder the surrounding lands.
