Amber Hold

The Amber Hold is a large collection of libraries and archives that have spread throughout Orlond's major populations all in the pursuit of knowledge, both its acquisition and distribution. The libraries were started in the early years by the Orlesian nobility for the purposes of worship and patronage to the goddess Ioun. Additionally, the libraries and archives help to obtain and preserve the knowledge of the world, which Orlond hopes to use to better its people and expand its geopolitical power.
The Hold maintains a large selection of books, scrolls, and other scripture for the public, allowing all who wish and can to find the knowledge they seek. A large number of librarians, monks, and clerics watch over the collection to ensure that their goddesses wishes to spread knowledge far and wide is maintained.
