Jam Jellyfish
Jam Jellyfish make jam in jar-like homes. Once a jar in their home is filled with jelly, they shriek. It's a very loud shriek, that carries to sleeping Mermaids who have to get up and harvest the jam.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Jam jellyfish are generally a light blue colour, with lighter to transparent tentacules.
Ecology and Habitats
Jam jellyfish live and grow with Jar Coral. As the jellyfish make jam, the coral grows new jars for the jellyfish to make jam in. Each jam jellyfish lives with one specific jar coral.
Behaviour
These jellyfish make jam in the jars of their home. Once a jar is filled, they will shriek until the jar is either empties or harvested from the coral. Once a jar is harvested, the jar coral will grow a new jar.
Additional Information
Uses, Products & Exploitation
Mermaids use the jam from jam jellyfish in their household food production and as a food to trade. It is not worth much for trade, as their are many jams available on land, it has a specific taste, and is much harder to spread than other jams; thus, it is mostly sold as a souvenir.
The jam has the consistency of a super dense jelly, and the taste of salted fruit that is on the verge of being overripened.
