The magical field and convergances.

Excerpt from "Mores Magicae" Bibliothek of Durunk in the year 2514 A.G.

"Magic is everywhere in Turian. In its most basic form, it is free-flowing energy with a behaviour much like water on a flat surface. It tries to distribute itself as evenly as possible.
However, magic seems to change its behaviour after it has obtained an even covering. At first, the magic begins to increase its amount. We do not understand how this works but in each experiment, the magic field covered all objects, surfaces and permeates them. We have not found a way to avoid that.
It is a fundamental truth that once any amount of magic is introduced into a system it will saturate the system to an absolute even measure and then evolve further.
As soon as an even distribution is achieved the total amount of magical energy starts to increase, again evenly throughout the system. Once a specific level of energy is reached the behaviour changes again.
The magical energy starts to flow and fluctuate. It starts to build up currents and collects in random places, building up pools and flows of higher magical density in an analogy to the rivers, lakes and oceans and the behaviour of water. All areas stay at a basic saturation level but the excess starts to make up this converging system. The magic seems to really move within the system. We were able to observe a static spell, cast at a specific point of the system, wandering within the experimental system."

From a lecture at the Imperial Akademie "The nature of forces and the forces of nature"

"What is a convergence in the sense of a magical convergence?  This question has been a major part of philosophy in the last Millenium. When the great mage, sage and teacher Drundigol of Durunk finally found the answer all those years ago many scholars rejected what we now know was the truth. Convergences of Magic are in essence material condensations of magical energy."
