Church of the Silver Flame

These are a Hibernian group who worship a mysterious force known as the Silver Flame. According to members of the Church, the Silver Flame appears as a beautiful woman all in white, with her face obscured by a veil of sheer silk. Those who dedicated themselves to the church are dedicated to the Flame with a passion that they claim burns within their soul. Whether or not this is true, it can’t be denied that the Flame grants her followers some sort of power.
The worshippers of the Silver Flame worship their goddess by building massive bonfires of silver fire. Once the pyre is constructed, they dance, chant, and sing around the flame. On rare occasions, one of the faithful dives into the fire, only to reemerge if their faith is strong enough.

Structure

The Most Holy of the Silver Flame is the one who wields the greatest power in the church. They are often called "the Veil". Below the Most Holy are those that folk outside the faith might call a high priest or priestess. Within the church hierarchy, they are called Torches. There are four Torches, and each possesses an abundance of magical power. Each Torch is served by a number of Tongues, who individually tend to the bonfires of their Circles. Any member of the Church beneath a Tongue is part of a Circle. These worshippers generally possess no special powers.

Public Agenda

Most members of the Silver Flame profess a goal of worldwide conversion. For the most part, the Church is seen as a radical element, since their Lady of Flame is not one of the gods who ascended to divinity at the end of the First Looking Glass War. Whether or not she is a true being of divine power is a question hotly debated in many halls of worship.
The primary goal, though, of the Church, is to cleanse the world of darkness. This darkness includes the influence of demons and the fey.

Assets

The greatest asset of the Church is the power of the Argent Flame. A unique force, the Argent Flame is a magical talent seemingly bestowed by the Lady unto her most loyal followers. The worshippers who can summon this power invoke it as a wave of radiant silver fire, and the scars that it leaves in its wake are said to cause intense pain.
