East End

East End is one of the inner districts of Sorenel. It is primarily a residential area, both in the Brynith and Heaven levels. The heavenly area especially is known for several newer apartment buildings constructed similarly to the districts close to the Gardens.
Its name springs from the fact that before the expansion of the walls in 503 ED it was the east-most district north of the river Erannel and was home to one of the main gates to the north of the city. Since the the disintegration of the second walls, East End has grown past those former boundaries to include the shanty towns that had once populated the immediate vicinity of the old walls. This is not often the case, as usually shanty towns are declared independent districts.

Demographics

East end is one of the more densely populated areas of Sorenel, which is saying something given the average population density throughout the city already far exceeding any other area on Trymis. The last census reported over 21'000 nobles alone taking residence in East End, with the total population exceeding the hundred-thousands.
